The grounds lovely walks house worthy of a visit but very cold inside even on a sunny day so be prepared. Great interior with a lovely ballroom and staircase a lot of work has been done to keep up the house and lots of events held there.

Lovely walks, the house itself is lovely and the restoration has been very well done. Play park for the kids and picnic areas. I particularly like the river walks. Highly recommend

Love this place deffo worth the entry price of 4.50. On the open days for horses it's 15, or annual price of 200. I love it, beautiful!

My husband and I visited on the European heritage open day and it's well worth visiting. Thoroughly enjoyable and a credit to all the volunteers who are putting so much effort into this wonderful house. Their passion for the house shines through and our guide (I didn't catch his name) was a mine of information. He spent about 90 minutes telling us fascinating facts and showing us so many wonderful pieces and I've never seen 90 minutes go by so quickly! The trustees are working so hard to keep the heart of the house beating and this shows through in every room. No museum here! We are looking forward to getting back to explore the gardens and some of the walks around the grounds. There's also a lovely coffee shop and the coffee is excellent, one of the best I've tasted in quite a while. If you ever get the chance to have a tour of Lissan House, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Came here for the European heritage open day and really enjoyed it. The house itself is just a beauty. The trust have done a brilliant job in keeping the house. The house has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, especially when the open fire is lit in the hallway! Our tour guide Pat was a lovely lady and was very detailed in her wealth of knowledge about the house and its history. The extensive grounds with this house are lovely as well. Well done to all at Lissan House.

Had wonderful visit to Lissan House. Jane Greer was brilliant and highly entertaining guide. They have lovely tea room and very welcoming staff. The house is a hidden gem and there are beautiful walks on the estate. Cant wait to visit again soon. You got to visit this place!

We visited Lissan House this evening for a showing of the film 'haunted House'. The house is closed for winter but opens for occasional events like this. It was also possible to look at some of the rooms and the tea room. Great atmosphere to watch an old (1959) horror film, but being an old house in winter, I was pleased we wrapped up well.

The guided tour of Lissan House is well worth the very reasonably priced entrance fee. Its a unique experience : very entertaining and informative ( usually 1 hour plus ) How amazing it was to see the old house, just as it was left by the last owner and to hear the stories of the Staples family and others who worked in the house and on the estate in the old days . . shades of Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs. The grounds are undergoing some restoration - the forest walks and riverside paths are lovely. All this has been achieved by volunteers : well done Lissan House Trust ! A place to visit and re-visit.

We had a group guided tour of the house. Tourguide was part of a dedicated team of volunteers and was great, so much knowledge of the history and family who lived in the house. Unlike any other plantation house in ni as the is as it was when it was lived in. The original paintings all over the house are worth visiting for alone. The house is steeped in 400 yrs worth of history and stories snd even ghosts! Fantastic visit and we could easily have spent a full day enjoying the tour, the grounds and tearoom. Thanks to the great volunteers for arranging our visit. The tour is priced at £ 3.50 per person which is great, I would def pay twice that. Well worth a visit!

We visited Lissan House one Sunday afternoon & were given an excellent guided tour whilst there. This house is living, breathing history & I would thoroughly recommend a visit. The grounds are breathtaking & the house has a fascinating & poignant story.

Lovely old house. Good for an afternoon to walk around. Kids liked exploring all the different rooms. My husband likes all the photographic opportunities that he has here.
