The true cathedral of the Isles and a beautiful attraction. Although it's on the small island of cumbrae and about a 20 min ferry trip it's well worth It with. I went there for my grandparents 50th anniversary and I thurally enjoyed my visit. It is great for a nice quiet walk or just a general visit. Strongly reccomended it.

Such an impressive Cathedral. The smallest Cathedral in Europe. The setting could not be better, surrounded by woods and farmland just a short walk from the beach at Millport. In side it is very tranquil. A place for quite contemplation on a beautiful island.

I visited the Cathedral grounds and had a lovely quiet walk following the various paths though the grounds, the building itself is very impressive but as I had a dog with me I did not venture inside. Set back from the main promenade beside the Garrison it is an attraction that is well worth the small detour.

Little Cumbrae and Millport are not known for a frenetic pace of life, but even so the tranquility engendered by this the smallest cathedral in the British isles is remarkable. A two minute walk from the shoreline is all it takes. Austere but inspiring. Worth a visit and some reflection.

If you like High Gothic Victorian architecture and you happen to be on Cumbrae, it's worth finding and having a peek. You have to be fit to get up all of the steps into it and it's probably not one of Butterfield's best pieces in my opinion, but I enjoyed wandering around and would go again if on the island.

A hidden gem...just go and see it...right in the middle of the town,if walking there are some very steep steps at front.

This little Cathedral is well worth a visit. It belongs to the Episcopal Church congregation and continues as a place of worship. it's a large looking building but tiny inside. it has amazing stain glass windows, wall tiles and paintings. There is a feeling of tranquility throughout the building especially in the Lady Chapel. There are concerts and music throughout the year with a varied programme.Take time to visit this lovely place when on the island.

Made up of just a small main church and an attached chapel, this small cathedral is smaller than most parish churches. The interior is charming and there are a few laminated information sheets to guide you round.Outside on the far side of the church is a labyrinth carved into the grass, which children, no doubt, would enjoy. If you're visiting Millport/Great Cumbrae, it is well worth a visit. Entrance is free (although they request a donation. It is walking distance from the main part of the town, and if you're in a rush, its small size means it needs only take 15-20 minutes of your day.

This place is a must if you visit Millport. You do not have to be religious it is simply a marvellous experience from the moment you walk through the gate, through the wooded area up the stairs and into the cathedral simply amazing. Cannot recommend this enough!

We were visiting Millport over Easter so went to the Episcopalian Cathedral for Easter Saturday Mass. The congregation were extremely welcoming, friendly and interested in who we were. The Mass was in a stunning setting in a stunning Church with several surprises! Firstly: the choir who came from all over for this special service and were like something from Songs of Praise and secondly: the service was taken by the main man, Bishop of Argyll. If you really want to experience this beautiful little gem - don't just visit. Say a prayer - I guarantee you will be uplifted!

If there was a good button for these reviews I would have chosen that, as it is worth a look round but there is very little information about when it was built, who by, what for etc. They have signs up about the organ and other bits, but nothing about the actual history of the place. I had a look round then Googled it when I came out. I would have enjoyed it more with more information about it but it's still worth a look as it's only a very short walk from the centre of Millport. If you are interested in its history research before you go so you can appreciate it more when you get there.

Worth a detour off of the seafront in Millport. A lovely woodland setting for the small cathedral in the British Isles.
