ayr racecourse

This was the second time to Ayr Races as a guest for hospitality with a company. I have been to several of these events at various racetracks and to be honest this is a third of the price of places like Aintree and is far superior in comparison. The food was very good, all served on piping hot plates and there was a good choice of starter, main course and dessert. The staff were great, helpful, friendly, professional and worked hard throughout the day, we were never without a drink as the waiting staff were taking orders continuously. After the racing it was also an added extra to go down to listen to the live band which provided a nice end to what was a very good day. I would recommend this for anyone thinking of putting on a birthday bash for friends or for a special occasion as it was I thought very good value.Well done Ayr Racecourse for showing the big boys how it should be done!

Atmosphere was brilliant. (Be prepared for some rather drunk arrogant people and the end of the day though. :(

We were here for a stag do on Saturday. Fantastic atmosphere and reasonable prices. Good food too. The staff were also very friendly and courteous. Great day out all round.

Enjoyed the whole experience in the Club deck,fair bar and food prices and a great days racing.The only thing i cannot understand why people pay to get in then sit drunk in a corner and don`t bother to watch the racing,what`s the point??.And the queue to get back into the covered part of the enclosure from the race course itself through the revolving door.also the queue`s at the Bet Fred payout, if you are lucky enough to win,silly as it may sound part of me was glad that i did not win the last race.

Ayr racecourse is always worth a visit - great location and walking distance of the town- recent paddock upgrade has made a difference and allows close access to the horses

the racing was good a large well behaved crowd, once the racing was over a band played in the club stand who were brilliant a quality day was had and 3 winners

We visited on 19th December (13 of us ), we all had a great night. Food was nice except the vegetarian option which was a trade and was very dry, and our gluten free option gravy wasn't nice maybe put it in a separate pot got person to our accordingly. Apart from that everything else was lovely. Service was a bit chaotic and possibly ensure that any dietary requirement are served at same time as other meals done of our party had finished before others hot there's. Games, band and entertained great too.We will be back next year, staff were all friendly and helpful

I have just come back from Ayr racecourse Christmas night Saturday 13th December 2014. OMG Where do I start!!! This has been the worst Christmas party night I have ever ever been to. The food service was chaotic (and thats an understatment) half our table got food the other half were forgotten about. The soup was cold and the pate was not pate dont know what it was. The veg was hard the meat over cooked potates were edibil Just!! the cheese cake was nice the sherry trifile!!! well that should come under the trade discription act no sherry no fruit no spong it was jelly and custard not triffle Christmas pudding was dumplin with again cold custard Mince pies had to ask for them when they finaly did come were cold and tasted awfull. The kitcken and waiting staff sould pat themself on the back for a spectacular awful meal and service.To many people in the hall 600/700 so the dance floor was packed uncomfortabily tight making it dangerous and hot.The band were great enjoyed them as was the guy who did the disco both got the crowed going and I dare say that most people would forget how awful the food and service was because of the band and the entertainment. I would not recomend the food or the place for a night out disgusting that they are allowed to take money from people for the worst Christmas party night ever.

Had a good day at the racing. We purchased a steak pie and chips and it was delicious and good value for money.

Very nice racecourse there is ample places to eat and drink and plenty room to sit down or stand whatever your preference and I don't think I've ever been in cleaner and nicer toilets in my life there's even TVs in them so you don't miss any of the racing

I enjoyed our 3 days at the races people are very friendly at the racecourse. Ayr is a lovely small place.

What a fabulous day was had by all at the Gold Cup on Saturday.Having left a very wet Glasgow, we couldn't have been more delighted, to see the sun shine for us in Ayrshire.The bus to the races, is always a fun journey, with everyone in high spirits and corks popping as soon as the engine starts!We arrived in one piece, and had to cross the course to get to the club enclosure, an interesting journey for anyone in heels!But now the REAL fun begins!Some of us head straight for the champagne tent, while others study the form and place the first of many bets!What a wonderful place this is for people watching, as hoards of folks, dressed up for the occasion, stream back and forth, between the totes and the stands!As the day wears on, and the drinks keep flowing, the people watching gets more and more interesting, and watching the horses comes a close second to watching the inebriated negotiate the stairs and the crowds!As each race starts, you can hear loads of encouragement being shouted at the horses, and good natured banter between winners and losers!We were offered a tip from an owner stranding at the track side " don't waste your money on my horse, he's too fat this year!" Hahaha!After the last race, we head back to the bus for our journey back to GlasgowSo to round up Guys, this was a truly BRILLIANT day out, and everyone who went was onto a 'winner' !

Been to racing back in July and reurning on 01/11/14 for a coprorate day through my work, on last visit staff and service was exceptional also visited last year 09/13 for Ladies Day which was out of this world

Been to Ayr races several times including two Gold Cup days. Efficient, friendly and good facilities.We were staying in town and there was no need to take the car, an excellent bus service 5/6 minutes.

Took my hubby here for his birthday treat on Saturday to the Gold Cup.Had a fab day , facilities very good, even the weather was kind .Lovely racecourse and great days fun can't wait to next year to do it all again except a few winners would be good next time !!
