You can have a tour of this building however as a former employee of the Council I did at various times have the chance to see different parts of this grand building with the beautiful marble stairway. Worth a visit!

Passes by it several times as it was on my way. Admired it from every corner. Worth seeing it. Especially if you have plenty of time, do go inside as well.

If you are in Glasgow midweek, don't miss a tour of this impressive building. It is not always possible to see all the rooms, depending on which are being used in an official capacity, but even the marble stairway is worth seeing, and the highlight is the beautiful Wedgewood ceiling. Not only that - the tour is free! There really should be an opportunity to give a donation in lieu of a ticket charge.

Very beautiful building right next to George's square, very easy to access and i would recommend for anyone visiting Glasgow to go and check it out!

Nice square in front of the town hall. Very good located in the city center and therefore easy to reach. Nice place for pictures - but nothing more.

we were so looking forward to seeing this fantastic building, such an example of wonderful architecture, paintings and vision- which is true however tour was perfunctory and told by someone who did not have the gravitas or knowledge that the building deserved . Perhaps as it was free no input is expected but Glasgow City Council are missing out by not show casing this more.

A fantastic house for Glasgow City Council. This homage to Queen Victoria was opened in 1888 and really epitomises Glasgow as a Victorian city with its grandiose architecture. It is the heart of Glasgow resting on the edge of George Square and a true starting point of any historical or walking tour of Glasgow.

Did this again (previous visit was almost 4 years ago) with a friend last Friday - our guide, Billy, was entertaining & informative, & at appropriate times highly amusing - very mixed group of people, which always makes for an interesting tour. On a personal note, as a big 'River City' fan, I was chuffed to see areas of the building that I had seen featured on the programme!

The tour of the City Chambers is very interesting and puts the history of Glasgow into context. The guide was very knowledgeable and amusing and gave a lot of information about Glasgow's history.
