Came here for afternoon tea (great voucher price) and were not disappointed. Staff were very attentive and the food was OK. The view and setting are stupendous, super for kite-flying and dog-walking. Well done National Trust! The main downside was the over-flowing bins for dog poo, which is a real health hazard. Central Bedfordshire Council is responsible for them and is not doing its job. WHERE ARE YOU CBC?

Visited today as the weather so lovely. Would have been a lovely afternoon but for the restaurant. Arrived at 12.30hrs to find the restaurant busy but not heaving. The kitchen was overwhelmed - 45 minute wait even for a bowl of soup. The only food instantly available were sausage rolls. There was no cutlery and the food was being served in plastic boxes as they run out of plates. Tables were very slow to be cleared and the locks in the ladies toilets were broken. There is a lot of scope for improvement !

Thank you for the lovely review, our walks are quite spectacular, always plenty to see. Walking when it is windy can be good fun and it certainly clears the cobwebs away!

Very sorry to hear that your visit here did not meet your expectations of a National Trust property. We can always offer change in the Centre for the car parking machines, unfortunately these machines are old now and we are exploring options to update them. We do our best to regularly check the toilets and maintain them properly but we are a very busy site. The displays are designed that way to make it easier for customers to help themselves to the cakes etc, this kind of display has been adopted by us as it is seen as successful at other National Trust properties.

Thank you for the review for our afternoon teas. We have had some problems with the heating system in the Centre which is why it was cold, hopefully these have been sorted out now. We hope that your afternoon was not too badly affected by the lack of heating.

The views from the top of the Downs are wonderful especially on a clear day when you can see for approximately 36 miles to the horizon. Taking in at least 3 counties.

Thank you so much for your kind review. National Trust members can park for free and take advantage of our visitor centre for a cup of tea and a slice of cake while enjoying the views of Aylesbury Vale through our ceiling to floor windows.

Thanks for the great review. There are some very good walks which start from our visitor centre which take in the view from the top of the Downs. All car parking charges go straight towards helping maintaining the Downs for others to enjoy in the future.
