加入了帝国战争博物馆会员之后，发现还可以免费参观DUXFORD航空博物馆，于是立马买上火车票就去了。太棒了，居然看到了F-15，就在地上停着，还可以随便用手摸，太美了。看介绍还会定期有坦克飞机等表演活动。军事迷必去之地。

Not knowing anything about the museum when we arrived I thought it looked expensive. Once walking around I realised what good value it is! There is loads to see for all ages even if like me you're not that interested in planes.We spent a whole day at Duxford however I imagine that if you were to read everything properly you could go there many times and still see something new.

I could easily tour this museum at length on my own. But what made it special was sharing it with my son.While many displays are available promoting learning of history, the simple act of seeing what we have created and why is so valuable. Walking amongst our weapons of old. Understanding why people designed, built, piloted/drove them. You leave feeling humbled by the efforts of all those that toiled and died in the defense of equality for all.And they have some cool civil aircraft as well. Love the concord.

This is a huge open space with aircraft hangars across the site showing various aspects of military history. There is a wide range of exhibits from a 1940s prefabricated house to aircraft of all ages so should suit different interests. The exhibit labels are clear and informative.There are places across the site to buy food but there are plenty of picnic places if you want to take your own. Unfortunately buses only reach the site from Cambridge town centre and railway station on Sundays at this time of the year. Plenty of car parking and hopefully there will be a better bus service in the summer months.

Great day out for all the family. Plenty to see and based on a live airfield with planes taking off and landing all day. Brilliant.

We were a party of 10 consisting of 3 generations aged between 7 and 60something including a keen plane spotter/wannabe pilot and we all learned something. The displays are well presented and very informatively produced with access for wheelchairs easy and all inclusive - the children and adults alike loved the hands on science features and we're pleased there was plenty of seating to take in the surroundings.

This is a huge site and it would take longer than a single day to see everything that's on display. As well as the war birds that everyone expects, don't miss the military vehicles and D Day landing display. There is also the excellent collection of British Airliners which are sometimes opened by volunteers. A great way to recall what early foreign holidays were like.

We decided to visit Duxford on a grey and showery weekend at the beginning of February.The positives:Excellent collection/variety of planes/vehicles etcInteractive exhibits for the younger children (and adults) to learn about many different features of air craft and aviationPolite staff - we had a 3 year old with us and many staff who were walking around were asking him what he enjoyed and what he liked etc. Just made the experience more family friendlyGood selection of food and not overly expensivePlay area for the smaller childrenThe history teacher in me was able to geek out whilst learning a lot too'Working' workshop able to see people working on restoring/repairing aircraft The negatives:One member of staff 'volunteer' on an aircraft was very rude to 2 teenagers who had accidentally entered the plane via the 'exit only' (one of them cried)The price of entry was high considering that a lot of the planes outside were not open - perhaps have a seasonal discount to counter this?Overall an absolutely fantastic day - easily spend the whole day (if not two days) here - will be a lot better in the summer, when we will no doubt visit again.

Duxford is an amazing museum with an extremely special heritage, especially World War Two where it was used by the USAF to host the mighty Eighth Air Force. The IWM have done a remarkable job at preserving some of the rarest aircraft on the planet for all to see at the aircraft and it's no wonder that the museum is regularly credited with being one of the best aviation museums in the world. I've been to over 25 airshows in 12 years at Duxford, including TFC's Flying Legends every July - it's a weekend that I genuinely look forward to every year! The highlight of the show is always the Balbo where you will see the largest formation of WWII piston engine fighters flying together anywhere in the world. AirSpace (Hanger 1) is absolutely fantastic and you can spend a whole day going round each hanger, including the land warfare hall. If you want to see it all, visit the hangers on a non airshow day and then return for the airshow!If you're going for an airshow, arrive early and pack a sun hat/sun cream when it's hot and sunny - you will get cooked otherwise! Food from both The Mess restaurant and mobile caterers is fairly pricey however so bear this in mind.

I haven't been to IWM Duxford for around 8 years and a lot has changed in that time. We visited on a horrible rainy day last week but the weather didn't ruin it at all. I imagine that it would be a lot nicer however going on a sunny warm day!There are now 8 hangers to go around with British planes, The Battle of Britain exhibition, the American hangar and the land warfare the best of the bunch. The first hangar is especially good for children (of all ages, including parents!) as there are several interactive stations explaining flight. This really is a whole day out. We didn't stop for five hours and really should have taken a break for lunch and probably taken a bit more time but we needed to miss the traffic. In all I think this place is a must, and not just for plane spotters. There is a lot everyone can learn here and it is quite something seeing some of the iconic planes up close and personal.

Just enjoyed a day at IWM Duxford. There is so much to see there and something for everyone. It is quite hard to fit it all in, in fact. The staff are friendly and helpful and the catering facilities good. Also there is a minibus that will pick you up and drop anywhere along the runway. This is really useful for those who cannot walk too far.Couldn't fault it - a great day out.

There is lots of things to do and see and also some good event. It is very good prices and sometime you can see planes coming into land on the runway.

I booked the conference facilities here again this year for our annual company seminar and I wasn't disappointed. From booking the event and right through the whole day, the staff were excellent without exception. Everything was attended to in a friendly manner (and humorous on occasions). We used the airside suite which overlooked the runway. It's a nicely sized room and the layout was perfect for our event. On arrival we were greeted with hot breakfast rolls, pastries and teas and coffees. We chose the hot lunch and the choices were superb. Our menu consisted of beef stew with dumplings, Malaysian chicken and sweet potato curry or gnocchi with creamy mushrooms and spinach! Very yummy! Treacle tart or rhubarb fool rounded the meal off beautifully! Included in the hire is access to the museum so we allowed a little extra time to do so! I was also lucky enough to be chauffeured across to the American hanger to quickly view the planes my dad flew in! We experienced an amazing peace of luck to be able to witness their Concorde lowering its nose. The first time for 10 years apparently! Afternoon tea and coffee came with homemade shortbread biscuits plane shaped! Nice touch! Everything was in place that needed and had asked for and we couldn't have asked for a better experience at Duxford. Thank you so much to all the staff! I highly recommend this as a venue for meetings. There are several rooms to choose from!

If you like aeroplanes and military vehicles this is a no brainer visit. It's a huge area with lots of hangers and so much to see. The American hanger is amazing with the SR71 & super fortress really awe inspiring. Don't miss the Lancaster though. This really is one of the best aircraft museums in the Uk possibly the best. Just get there early and pace your self as it can be a long day but it is very easy to get to being right by the exit from the motorway. A great day out.

On a bitterly cold day we took our nine year old grandson to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. Cambs. There are eight hangars /buildings with a regular little bus for those who cannot make the distances on foot. You start at the visitor centre and see as many or as few of the displays as possible. We only managed 4 of them, with a snack inbetween. The visit to the WW1 layout based around a trench in the American with many realistic vehicles was very touching, the aircraft in all the hangars including Concorde were 'awesome' I was told by my grandson..The staff were so friendly and everything was so well thought out, with one downside, the lighting was far too low, it really was a struggle in some places to see details clearly. Lots of seating with films to see on long walk ways with a repeating loop, so if you missed a bit, you could see it later. We will definately go back again to see the places we missed.
