Myself and friend had a great morning at this venue. Excellent tuition and confidence building helping us move from novices to shooting most things out the sky. A must for anyone looking for an action packed trip and we will be visiting again very soon. We have the shooting bug!!

We went as a couple, it was a lovely morning and the farm is set in beautiful surroundings. Steve and his wife were very welcoming, the actual place is set up brilliantly, and considering we were both novices Steve was very patient, charming and made it really good fun for us for over an hour. we will definitely be back!

We booked to reward our team for their hard work. Steve was a brilliant host, all of our team enjoyed the day immensely, some had never held a gun before, others were experienced marksmen but regardless of this Steve put everyone at ease. The homemade sausage rolls were great too, thanks Elaine.

Brilliant fun, we went as a group of 5 friends, got a very warm welcome, fun/funny from start to finish. Even if the scoring was some what biased towards some members. :-) definitely do it, you will love it.

Attended a surprise birthday event at Chessgrove and must admit to initially being slightly apprehensive. Having never 'shot' anything before I was convinced I would be hopeless, but the tutors couldn't have been more helpful and encouraging and 'made' the whole event. They ensured all in our large party managed to shoot something by being very attentive and patient. One of our party had previously had a bad experience (at another range), where the gun had recoiled and badly bruised his face, but at Chessgrove they took time to explain the whole process so was ideal for those who were interested to absorb the theory (like me), but could adapt to those who were more experienced. Home made cakes, sausage rolls and tea/coffee thrown into the deal and we all enjoyed a great 'experience' that made the birthday boys' day. Give it a go for an unusual treat/experience in a lovely location

We were visiting a friend in the area and he arranged for us to go here for a lesson and some shooting. Neither my wife or I had shot before, but we needed had worried about it. We were given some excellent lessons and very patiently shown how best to hit the clays. I was particularly impressed with the quiet professionalism of the host, always with an eye to safety. In a very short time, we were both hitting clays, although the "rabbit" eluded us both. I really loved the set up here, clay pigeon machines in all sorts of locations emulating many different types of birds. A really good day out and highly recommended.

Fabulous day with fantastic hosts Steve Batt and Andy. 17 novices and an 8 year old had the most amazing time. The whole experience was great from arriving at 11am to leaving after 2pm. Scrumptious home made sausage rolls and cakes provided at half time by Elaine .The tutors Steve and Andy were patient, very knowledgeable and both had very dry senses of humour which made the whole day go with a smile, and treated the 8 year old so nicely. All guests enjoyed it thoroughly I couldn't recommend this venue highly enough - give it a go, it would be brilliant for any sort of celebration.

A wonderfully warm welcome from Steve backed up with some super advice which honed in a rusty eye. Spot on tuition, a friendly service, a variety of clays. What more could you want.

What a grate little clay shoot. The location is grate sat on top if a hill looking across the forest and the facility's are brilliant. Steve the owner makes you feel at ease when giving u 1on 1 tuition, which I would advise even if u r a more advanced shot and just require sharpening up. Very friendly environment and would recommend to anyone especially first timers due to the fact that Steve goes above and beyond expectations and won't let u leave without breaking a few clays. All in all brilliant.

My husband and I received a free experience certificate when we purchased a new phone and decided to give clay pigeon shooting a go. We are so glad that we chose Chessgrove. Booking was quick and easy and we received a very warm welcome upon arrival but the highlight was definitely Steve, the owner. He is a very professional, yet friendly guy, who coached us through every clay on every trap and genuinely wanted us to hit each target, which made for an enjoyable and successful introduction to shooting. We definitely be back and will be raving about our day to friends and family!

I took my brother-in-law to this lovely family run clay pigeon shooting ground. The owner was a nice chap who took time to have a chat with us before we started. Approximately eight stands most with two traps. Run on an honesty system of how many clays you have shot at. Very reasonable and tea and coffee facilities for you to use. A pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

I booked my husband and 9 friends for an afternoon of clay pigeon shooting for his 50th birthday. On booking it I spoke to Steve Batt who was so friendly and talked me through the whole day and made me feel confident that the men would have a great day. You also got the impression that he was grateful to get the booking not like some other shooting schools in the area which didnt care whether you booked with them or not. The men had an absolutely fantastic day, they had a warm welcome and had loads of fun from start to finish. There was snacks and drinks available. Lots of laughs from start to finish. This was a day that my husband and friends will remember and they are already trying to arrange another day at Chessgrove shoot. They are wonderful people that run this professional but fun day out.
