This is the only Shakespeare property outside Stratford, but is well worth visiting. If you like walking, you can follow the canal from Bancroft Gardens. It takes about an hour. The volunteers dress in period costume and will talk to you about what they are doing: cooking, eating, gardening, falconry etc There are often events put on such as midsummer fairs, archery and carol singing. Highly recommended.

Fantastic garden with spring bulbs and primroses well ahead of most places. Guide excellent, especially considering the involved history of the building and the way it's changed over centuries. She was very clear and interesting, and had a lovely sense of humour, too.

My daughter loved this place even at the grand age of 14..... She loved the falconry displays and the archery. Great for children of any age plus there is a cafe which saves having to lug a picnic with you. You can safely spend a whole day here without the kids getting bored.

Lots of valuable information of the Shakespearean times shared by the people on the farm. Lovely grounds. A beautiful 3-miles walk from Stratford along the canal.

Me and the family went there in the Summer it was great! We did the hop on hop off bus tour which meant e for to visit all the houses connected to Shakespear im Stratford. The people who acted as maids in the kitchen were very helpful when we asked them about how the food would have been used for and so on...The hawk show was amazing and I love farms so this was great for me.Haha only downside is it's very hard to find someone once you've lost them! It was a great day out though :)

We are regular visitors and with the ticket including unlimited revisits for 12 months it well worth the entry fee. The falconry displays are particularly good, but take your own food as the food in the restaurant is average at best.

I live in stratford and have a annual pass for this place as it keeps my sons (6 and 7 yrs old) occupied through the half term breaks and is genuinely beautiful and very relaxing.

We spent a whole afternoon here walking around the large, working farm. We watched the falcons fly, we listened to the bagpiper, we visited all the farm animals and spoke to the women in costume who were tending the farm. Peaceful and informative!

This is the farm where Shakespeares mother Mary Arden lived it is full of history from the past. The guides are very knowledgeable and give a real atmospheric tour. There is much to see both inside and outside. It is suitable for all ages and children especially seem to like it. I would suggest best from about the age of 5 upwards.There are often special events on and it is best to check the web page for information at www.shakespeare.org.ukIf you have time or on holiday it is possible to purchase a multiple ticket to view all of the Shakespeare properties. Of all the houses linked to Shakespeare, this is the one where you get a really good idea of real people and how they lived. Depending on the time of year you may find apple experts - and local apples to try, or live musicians and dancers, and people demonstrating old skills and crafts.The cafe is excellent, generous portions and a lovely choice of wholesome fare (and great cakes).It closes in the winter.

Complete with the other venues to visit regarding Shakespeare it was nice to visit his mothers home where she grew up etc.

Grandchildren loved the falconry, herding the geese and talking with the cook who was making pottage. A great educational experience for children.

This is a great location as its literally 5 mins walk from the train station and is one stop down from Stratford upon Avon town centre. It is advisable to pay for a 12 month pass for all 5 Shakespeare houses . Mary Arden's farm is good because there are lots of activities for the family and for children. They do Dancing, Owls , cooking in the olden days , feeding and many more throughout the day. The main farmhouse has a kitchen on the ground floor which demonstration are shown of cooking , and in the dining area then eating manners. There are a variety of animals outside which are kept well , however we do feel there can be a few more animals at this attraction. There is also another house at the attraction which is very good and has interesting facts about farm hood life in the past. This is a good day out with lots of history and facts .

This attraction has everything for the whole family to enjoy. Return to the past and watch the midday meal being cooked and eaten; pet the pigs and other farmyard animals; see the working horses: talk to the blacksmith; watch the falconry display; learn how life was like living on a farm in the past. This is a fun and educational place to visit - spend anything from 2 hours to the entire day!
