Totally entrancing to see and be where a great painter had lived and worked ,even though the lift was not working the climb up the spiral staircases was worth it

An interesting look into the man and his life however if you're looking for Rembrandt the artist make your way to the Rijksmuseum

Well planned, and the demonstrations laid on really help you understand the techniques used - but you need to be quick to spot when they're on as the timetable only seems to be published on little 'clocks' in some of the rooms.Staff all very helpful

Do not pay to go in here. Many people don't realise this but the large majority of items in the Huis are NOT from Rembrandt's time - they have been acquired from elsewhere and placed to make the house look like it did when Rembrandt lived in it. This museum is pretty much one big re-contsruction of what the house 'could' have looked like! Also, don't expect a house full of Rembrandt art as we did - there's barely anything by Rembrandt in here, it's mainly the dregs of what Rijksmuseum rejected, and what Rembrandt's students produced. If you want to appreciate Rembrandt, there's only one museum: the Rijksmuseum (which is fantastic).

This is a superbly restored, large house Rembrandt lived in until he became bankrupt. They have gone to great lengths to find the objects of the period to achieve an authentic feel. Mission accomplished! The audio guide brings everything to life. The narrow stairs between floors could be a challenge to some but are worth it. Each floor and room tells a different story of the man. The studio was my favorite. The reproductions in the museum do a great job in completing the story. I am now ready for the Rijksmuseum.Do not miss the Rembrandt House.

You will not see many paintings. You will learn about what life was like for an art teacher and artist during his era. His house helps feel the history. His collection of rare objects fascinated me. See how he slept in a little box bed. See took how paint was mixed and feel the light of his studio.

It revealed his home life & his domestic circumstances as well as Amsterdam life thenIt is boring to have to increase my review artificially

Rembrandt lived here until he went bankrupt, which resulted in everything in the house being itemised in detail. This I believe was the bases for the restoration of the house which is as it was when the great man lived here. There have demonstrations on print making and talks how paints were made in the day. There are etchings of Rembrandt and paintings by many of his students. The entrance fee includes an audio guide in many languages which gives great insights to the house and exhibits. Trams 9 & 14 go there, get off at Waterlooplein.

I have to say of all the places I've been in the world, this is still one of the most fascinating to me. He had a phenomenal collection of eclectic items to aid in his art. His studio I could spend hours in. So simple with wide plank unfinished floors. Yet, this is where genius with talent worked. You can see printmaking as well as finished works of his. His kitchen, bed, etc.
