This amazing cave is a huge room with a countless number of stalactites and stalagmites in such a small area. It's amazing to see the wonders nature does. And also on the way to the caves it's possible to see very beautiful sights.

The drive to the caves from the coast was very scenic and they were well signposted from the roadside. We decided not to visit the more popular caves in the region in favour of this p,ace and we were pleased with the tour. Our guide spoke excellent English and added value to the visit with lots of information about the history of the caves and the formation of the stalagmites and stalagtites. The guide did an excellent job of delivering the tour in English, French and Portuguese.

These caves are a bit of a secret, but is a must see for all travelling in mid of Portugal. The guide spoke English well enougth to reveal the secret behind this chatedral made by drops of minerals trough thousands of years. Highly recommended.

The Santo Antonio caves are a nice surprise and respite from sunny, organic, lovely Portugal. There is a guided tour in Portuguese but the caves speak for themselves. The stalactite and stalagmites is fascinating; at times and in the dim light it looks like the set of a science fiction city. Get out of the sun and visit these caves, the scenic drive and the cave exploration is wonderful. Take a light sweater, it is a chilly 14-16C degrees inside the caves. There is natural water in the cave, so avoid flip-flops.
