There is a spot with 4 pillars that is about half a mile away from the wall and this is actually the best spot to take a scenic picture. The city is not that exciting in itself, but a nice stop along the way to the east coast when travelling west from Madrid or Toledo. Great spot to have a nice lunch.

Well worth visiting. Ticket was €5 to visit both sections of the wall and included the Audio Guide. Allow about two hours to cover both sections.

The conservation, landscape view and the back to history sensation is great, however it was not clear how to go around to visit the ininterrupted 1.5 km of walls that was going around the city after you get the tickets from the office. redundant to mention, that non spanish speakers would have problem to understand. No accebility at all to elderly or disabled. It is a pitty!

The walls of Avila are outstanding with their complete encirclement of the city and impressive battlements. Some of the approaches might spook the nervous, but they are worth it. The section South of the cathedral is only short, but offers the finest views.

From far away, you can already see the magestic Walls of Avila for all it's grandness and historic value. It's easy to see why it has stood the test of time and is as breathtaking to see. This is well worth the visit, and awe inspsiring what was built/accomplished all those years ago!

What a charming village. The wall looks like a fairy tale. The town is peaceful and full of narrow winding streets lined with lovely buildings.

These walls are impressive, you would be hard pushed to find better examples. They are in good condition and complete, and free to view.

The wall walk was very historic with terrific views. However, the office wasn't open the hours advertised so make sure you check a head of time.

It is so nice to walk on the path of the walls of Avila. It is quite physical actually and you can see the surroundings.

This is a phenomenal place to visit. There is an overall sense of peace here- that is in direct contrast of the history of the place. I have visited several times. In March, at Christmas, at other times of the year. Overall one of my favorite places in Spain. The people who live there are friendly as well.

When i saw them for the first time, i though i was inside a movie. The vision is simply amasing. Too bad i didn't had the time to do the walk all the way around. It is said these walls are the most well preserved in the world, and they don't let their credit in others hands.

I think these walls are an interesting part of Spain history they are well preserved and full of interesting facts, I perspnally love it and the medieval look is the most attractive of it.

Breathtaking driving in. Gave me a renewed respect for people of the past protecting their core beliefs. Shattered the stereotypes about women and most of all saw hie faith in a deity can bring about the improvement in the lives of others. Avila is not to be missed. The preservation of the wall is remarkable and i probably lost 5lbs walkung on the wall. That alone made it worth it! Must visit.
