This site is close to the city and easily reached on foot (although it is a bit of a walk) or by car. It is perched along the river and has great views. It is located in a park or nature area which also appears to be popular with locals for running/walking and getting out with kids/pets. The descriptions are in Spanish, so if you don't speak it the experience won't be as informative. It wasn't crowded when we went and we toured through at our own pace. It's a great place to see if you're in Soria.

We visited this as part of a day out, walking along the river and going to the monastery of San Juan. It's a great place to wander along the river and look at the views. The actual hermitage is up a hill, so may not be suitable for all. Once inside, there are rather a lot of steps, so again, it may not be ideal for the less mobile. You are rewarded by excellent views over the surrounding countryside and you can marvel at wondering how on earth they built such a place hanging precariously over the river. Most of the information is in Spanish, so you may struggle to understand what exactly you're looking at, but it's easy enough to work out and to be honest, the views are worth the trip by themselves. It was free to enter too, which made it even better!

Great area to walk, exercise, explore along the banks of the river- the building is interesting to explore for young and old - it hangs above the river and there is an interesting story about a miracle involving a young boy falling from a window.

Normally when I visit a Hermitage church I always feel rather disappointed as there is never very much to it. However in this instance I was very happily surprised. Firstly the walk along the riverside to get there is a treasure. There is a beautiful walkway alongside the bank of the river Duero. You then cross over the bridge where you find the entrance to the Hermitage which is an extensive building with an interesting history to it.

Within walking distance (15 minutes) of the Monastry of San Juan just along the river. Very pretty, though you can drive to it through a very narrow arch, so no camper vans. Well not unless you wnat to get stuck.

Park the car and walk the distance to the sanctuary, you can come back on the opposite riverbank. The interior of the santctuary is very special and richly decorated.

Beautiful views, great nature, peace. The monastery is located in the rock. At the foot of it runs a great river, around the hills and the woods.

We had stayed in the Hotel Cadosa the night before and had noticed the car park for this attraction, and wanting to give our dogs a good walk, stopped the following morning, and walked to the Ermita. It was a wonderful walk with views over the River Duero, we had a brief look at the Ermita when we arrived, taking it in turns to stay outside with the dogs, and it's very interesting and quirky, built into the cliff front overlooking the river, you walk through caves, and there is stained glass in the first one as seen in some of the photos. Heading back, we crossed over the river on the pedestrian bridge, then along the river back to our car - would highly recommend.
