This is a very special place to get away from it all. Allow yourself to slow the pace and let the horse ride take you through a very special beach forest. Even more beautiful in Autumn.

It may seem like a normal forest to unexperienced eyes. However, la Fageda d'en Jordà wasn't meant to be there. The unique location of this valley, surrounded by the volcanoes and combined with the proximity to the Pyrenees and the coastal ranges has created the perfect environment for this forest to persist in an area it is not meant to be. Go for a walk along the trails, jump on a car pulled by horses, take your bicycle there... whichever way you choose to visit that place you will discover how amazing and magic it is.

Great walking in the shade, although it gets rather busier here than other more hilly walking routes in the area.

Amazing colours in fall, dream-like atmosphere even with good weather. Excellent for taking pictures or just sitting down listening to birds

I was there and really enjoyed walking through the forest and getting into the depth of its atmosphere. It is a very relaxing and comfortable place to spend a day in.

We enjoyed this walk around the volcanic park. We took trail #1 and found the signs plenty helpful and the park quite beautiful. Take some water, sunscreen, and your walking shoes. Only a few spots would it be considered really hiking. Bathrooms are available (on trail one) at the more westward parking lot when the trail goes under the road.

The very well-designed guidebooks for this reion, La Garrotxa, make this beech forest out to be amazing. it is relatively peaceful (if you don't count the groups of schoolkids), but the signs that do exist are a bit bewildering--they never show you where YOU are--and we managed to get lost in the forest as the posts (in 2 different colors) disappear after awhile...we escaped wth gps...but surely the easiest of the walks (for elderly/kids etc) could be better signed?

great day out walking about the beautiful beech trees. so green and lush. easy trails. stunning. very busy at the beginning put the further in you go the quieter it gets.

The scenery is spectacular. With its backdrop of volcanic mountains and lava flows there are some delightful towns, well posted walks through beech forest, and plenty of small roads and paths to explore on bike. If you enjoy cycling, I thoroughly recommend the old converted railway track path that stretches all the way from Ripoll to San Feliou on the coast. There is a section that you have to take shortly after Ripoll via a gruelling hill into Olot, but after that the route is easy going and very easy to find.

We drove from Figueres to see the craters recommended to us. After managing to find the badly signposted site we were disappointed to see the indentation in the landscape. It was a fully vegetated back yard of somebody's back yard. It is best appreciated from the air.

The trip on a horse carriage was magnificient! I arrived too early on a rainy day, but convinced the driver (for some extra money) to drive me alone to the Fageda. It's a spectacular trip through a forest of different colours - definitely worth doing!

The Fageda d'en Jorda is on the Olot - Santa Pau road adjacent to a large car park with Toilets and information kiosk. the walks through the beech woods are well signposted and varied. and the routes can be included in visits to 2 volcanos.
