First, i'd like to make it clear that i'm rating the Palacio Euskalduna and not it's excellent 'Terra Cotta Army' exhibition as that was outstanding for 10eur. My low mark is for the difficulty my wife and i experienced ordering tickets for the exhibition. We were only in Bilbao for one day and the only way to obtain tickets is through their website. We had to have help with the Basque/Spanish as the 'English translation' function didn't appear to work. Once tickets were purchased we had to print off confirmation which couldn't be done over the phone and again we required assistance from our Hotel's reception. Then we had to get tickets from a BKK machine using the card the tickets were booked on - which wasn't convenient - so we gave up and went to the Box Office for help. Our booking was for 10am but their Box Office (in another seperate building) didn't open until 10am causing more stress. Call me old fashioned, but what's wrong with (booking and) paying at the Box Office when you intend to visit. How is the introduction of technology helped make this more efficient or convenient? I'd have not booked were i aware of how much hassle this was going to be and sadly we'd have missed a top exhibition. Grumble, grumble.

I know its odd but my feeling is its a beautiful building in a fantastic setting and something to see. However the exhibitions were reduced and its more of a place to poss around and look intellectual and artistic. But it is stunniong

A beautiful building (in shape of the last ship that left the wharf) and how beautiful it is to see Dalì's "Terpsichore" dancing on the water. Dalí was right: she does not need a head/face to show the triumph of the dance.

Well, from the outside looks cool because it has a very unique architecture, and from the inside is spacious and modern. Good place to attende a concert and nicely located in front of a park.

Easy to get to and nice location by river and close to Guggenheim. Easy to get into but also interesting architecture. Rooms are varied and interesting

Euskalduna is basically a multiple concert and events hall building. It's located near other basque attractions like Doña Casilda Park, Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, Gran Via Boulevard and within walking distance from the Guggenheim Museum.

We went to see a Verdi opera which was an amazing production using all the visual effects that the huge stage and its gimmicks allow. Being in the top tier of the venue and seemingly a huge distance from the stage, I was anticipating having an issue with hearing everything clearly. But the acoustic was amazing and you could hear every little detail. And the architecture is stunning. Well worth a visit.

The Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS) recently put on a varied program of Tchaikovsky, Adams and Stravinsky. Although only 4 minutes in duration, Adams' "Short Ride in a Fast Machine" was stunning. It's one of my favourite pieces and as I'd not heard it performed live, I was very much looking forward to the BOS interpretation. Amazingly, the ticket prices were so inexpensive. The venue itself is visually stunning - inside and out. Check out the ceiling in the main Auditorium! The box office staff are multi-lingual and very helpful. Note that it doesn't take AMEX cards. Drinks and nibbles at interval were also very well priced (heaps less expensive that the Met in NYC!). If I lived in Bilbao, I'd be a regular!

Everything in Bilbao is quite modern so, this center is also quite interesting to visit ;) attended La Traviata there and despite being at the end I could see and hear perfectly.
