Before I go to Tirana / Albania, every body told me was there very danger and not friendly for American. Even I go East Europe from Hungria Romania Burgaria, There Neighber, same info. It was almost work out made me change my mine, but thanks final I follow my heart as go. It was suprise me was Tirana like 1980's China, local people really like tourist, they really want show u nice face and welcome. 10pm in centre Tirana was much safe than any city. I am happy finally been there. From communist country to western way not easy, but they try, oh no casino in best location should be museume, bar, night life, restaurant every where convinent, but public transpertation, that I buy expensive air ticket fly to Slovienia and Vienna.

We had a gorgeous trip as usual when we come to Tirana. We did in total about 50 km walking and that is what is great about this city, you can freely get lost and enjoy every corner. We will be back to Tirana for sure. Regarding the guided tour organized by Marled it was what we expected. We entirely enjoyed the day, all the information we received and the company of Erion. Fully recommended if you are planning to visit the city. Moreover Lediona replied immediately and was very helpful whenever we needed. WE LOVE TIRANA!!!

Marled Travel provided a tour guide for my three full days in Tirana. The first day was a tour of the city, including the museum, Blokku, and many other sites. The second day we went to Ohrid, Macedonia, which is the most important tourist venue in Macedonia, and is actually closer to Tirana than Macedonia's capital. The drive there featured beautiful mountain scenery. The third day we went to Berat, a city with very interesting architecture and a great fortress. Marled's prices were more reasonable than in those of other tour companies in Tirana that I contacted,Marled provided prompt and detailed information before my arrival, and arranged a taxi for the short notice for my departure. They would have helped me choose a hotel for my stay had I not made prior arrangements. (Their choice would've been better than my choice.)The tour guide the company arranged for my time in Albania was a brilliant 30ish doctoral student named Denis Cela. Denis is very outgoing, warm, humorous and a great conversationalist. He shared a lot of old and recent history of Albania with me, and provided detailed information about the sites we visited. (As I mentioned, he's a wonderful conversationalist and we also discussed general European travel, music, American culture, and current events, among many other topics.) We traveled in Denis's Audi for the second and third days of the trip, and it was a very nice and comfortable car. Denis did a great job of planning our excursions to avoid the worst of the traffic on the roads and the Macedonian border, and also took me to an authentic Albanian restaurant where the owner grows a lot of her own vegetables. This was the best decision I could have made for my visit to Macedonia!
