Also, the turning coffee shop is quite funny and kind of old style. There is a shooting range ontop of the mountain and you can walk around there

A trip to Mount Dajti takes about half a day and offers some peace and tranquility away from the hustle & bustle of the centre of Tirana. We braved it and walked to the mountain, using a map app on our phones. It took just over an hour to walk to the mountain from the centre of Tirana, at quite a brisk pace. The cable car station isn't well sign posted at all - use a taxi! The cable car ride to the top of the mountain takes 15 minutes and isn't too expensive (like the rest of Tirana!) The views from the top are awesome. There is a small hotel, a bar and a couple of restaurants at the top of the mountain, near the cable car station. The meals are really cheap (pizza for just over £2) and service is good. There are a few mountain paths you can follow to reach the summit of the mountain. Our guide book said it takes just over an hour to reach the top, but after walking from Tirana to the mountain, we'd done enough walking! There were shuttle buses at the top of the mountain taking you to other restaurants 1-2km away from the station, but we didn't use these. There were also some (malnourished) horses that you could ride at the top and a children's playground. The last cable car ride down was at 6:30pm, so you have plenty of time to explore the wildlife. Definitely worth a trip if you're in Tirana. We got a Taxi back to our hotel - was also cheap!

The cablecar takes you from the outskirts of Tirana to a plateau on Djaiti mountain. It's a great journey up the mountain. The views over Tirana and further are breathtaking. There Are. Number of reasonably priced restaurants in the area -many having a minibus to take you to them. There are walks either to the top of the mountain or down to the bottom. The cable car costs 800lek (about 5 euro) It's a good place to get away from the noise of The city and breath some fresh air.

The place itself is dirty. One good restaurant near the cable car station. All over not a must do, but if you have time....

getting there is probably the most interesting part, especially if you take public transport, and walk the rest, you will see the outskirts of tirana, take the telecabin and enjoy the view. very retro communist chique

We visited via the Dajti express - a great day trip. We were staying in Golem & got the bus to Tirana. I thought it would be easy to get to from the centre but information is limited in Tirana (we didn't find the tourist information office). It may not be easy to find information but as we discovered all over Albania, people are sooooo happy to help if they can & the kindness of strangers got us on and off the 2 buses that we needed & found us the free minibus up to the ticket office. When you are at the top, you could be a million miles from the city hubbub and it is cooler and quieter. The main restaurant was open & the food was good & views were excellent. Because of our lengthy journey, we didn't have long enough at the top for a proper walk but overall the experience was very good.

A 15-20 minute ride to the Dajti mountain is worth the 800 let. From the so called Balcony you can see Tirana and the surrounding countryside. On a clear day even the sea? Unless going hiking further into the nature or staying in the hotel, there is a restaurant and a bar to enjoy before heading back to Tirana. A local bus takes there and back, 30 lek per way. At least the line going to Linze works fine. Look for the line name above the front window of the bus. It leaves from Rruga Ludovik Shllaku, near the Skanderbeg square. Some say you could go until the end of the line and I quess it works fine too, but I happened to see a brown colored sign along the road and hopped off. Some 5-10 min walk uphill following the signs and I found the ropecar station.

It is always a very nice idea to check out Tirana from mount Dajti. Great panorama, fresh air and good food. You can have lunch in one of the restaurants up there. The best way to go is through the cable car, just 10 mins to the mountain.

a place green in spring and summer, and covered in snow in winter. Great to visit anytime. Lots of restaurants with traditional food. A good idea would be to use the cable car, which apart from making you enjoy a breathtaking view, would save you from the trouble of a bumpy ride

One of most attractive activities in Tirana. The cable car experience is really interesting, up there a beautiful view of the city can be enjoyed.

Taking the cable car up to Mount Dajt was a fantastic experience if a bit scary. One there you are in the immaculately kept gardens of the Hotel Belvedere with fountains, gardens, children's play area and the Ballkoni I Dajtit restaurant.Away from this area however it's a different story. Some rather scabbly ponies give children rides but the area is strewn with rubbish. This is something you'll have to get used to in Albania as they give a damn about their environment in this country. The picnic areas are littered with all sorts of plastic and paper rubbish the locals just leave lying around and really spoils some nice areas.Free taxis will take you to rather better cared for hotel complexes such as King Park and Gurra e Perrise which are well worth visiting. The whole peak of the mountain is a National Park which should be more developed with paths, info points etc. but hopefully that will improve. The hotels are all worth visiting for their beautiful settings and good food.Ignore the rubbish and just enjoy being above the city and its heat and pollution. A great place to visit and a must-do if you're in Tirana.

Great views on the way up marred by the scratched windows in the gondolas. Nice restaurant at the top with nothing to stop the views.
