We had a doubt either to take a trip with a big boat or this smaller one, because we went with 2 kids. But had never regretted our decision to go with the Golden Frog (which I assume as a smaller-lower boat). Having a chance to touch water , pick up, peal and eat "Kasaranje" (if I write it correctly), from water surface, was beautiful.Ivana is unbelievable young girl, perfect English, great knowledge about the lake and the surrounding area. I don't think a lot of even older people can communicate that smoothly with guests. Not to forget to mention surprise: domestically made "Priganice" with homemade honey and cheese! We really enjoyed the whole experience and honestly highly recommend them for Skadar lake tour.

Awesome experience, great hosts. Was given an hour long trip for three of us for a reasonable price. They gave us a tour of the lake, pointing out key features and gave us a choice where to stop off. We decided to go for a dip in the lake to cool off. They allowed us to sample a local, homemade pudding with honey which was delicious!Allow them to take care of you! Awesome trip!

Had a wonderful trip on the Golden Frog at the end of September. Tasted all of Ivana's goodies including the homemade Brandy.Ivana was most accommodating,we telephoned from our hotel in Budva and met her on the quay. She speaks perfect English and is very knowledgeable about the wildlife. There were 6 of us on the boat plus the Captain and Ivana. We were all very comfortable. The lake is stunning.

We really enjoyed our trip on the Golden Frog last Friday. Ivana has a wonderful personality and is very knowledgeable and the captain is entertaining too. Were treated to some delicious home made food and took in the sights of the lake. We wish Ivana and her business the very best of luck in the future.

The cruise on the Golden Frog was recommend to us by our Hostel. You can usually choose between tours of different lengths up to a few hours, including stops for picknick or bathing in the lake. But you should at least take two hours for it to see more of the lake, as it's not a racing boat but a relaxing slow ride over the water. The guide of the tour is great and has a lot to tell about the history and the wild life and which places are the best to visit. If you find a few more people to share the ride with you, it will be a bit cheaper, but it will be worth it anyways.

We did not check trip advisor before we decided to hop aboard the Golden Frog - we had a small chat with Ivana's mother who is living some 2 km off Virpazar. After a short hike she was waving us into her nice garden and told us about her younger daughter having a boat of her own (a present from her uncle in fact). Aside from recommending the sliwowitz and homemade jam (you may also ask if they are ready to prepare dinner for you) we strongly suggest that you have a cruise with the Golden Frog. Just look out for a girl with a frog shirt on and do not forget your swimwear.

We were end of July in Virpazar as a stop in our Balkan tour. Although we have seen many highlights, our time spend with Ivana and her family was sure the most memorable. Ivana is not only an excellent guide but also a very very intelligent girl with a good sense of humour. As you can read in all the other comments, she changes the program to your needs easily, she speaks English fluently, the boat is beautiful and she has a great knowledge of the lake and its surroundings. We agree with all of this. We also have to say that the captain, who looks like Robert de Niro, made our day too! We’re sure you will have a good time at the Golden Frog! Ps. We would like to send our warm regards to the whole family! Kyra and Rens

Fantastic boat trip today with Green Frog - couldn't recommend them more! The lake is stunning and Ivana is very knowledgable about it and her English is excellent. We had two young children with us (age 3 years, and 6 months) and she customised our trip to suit us perfectly, taking us to swim in an area suitable for the children, and incorporating things that we showed a specific interest in. Ivana includes lots of little extras in her tour (local food to taste, drinks, binoculars to use), which really make the experience!

It was one of our last days in Montenegro and we could not expect that our holidays would have offered us another great surprise as the meeting with Ivana! The boat trip in Skadar lake on the board on the Golden Frog was absolutely great: it is the best way to appreciate the naturalistic landscape of the lake and to meet its feathered residents.. I highly suggest to have a trip early in the morning: it is the best to have bird watching and you can enjoy the lake it its peaceful atmosphere before that the tourist boats invade the channels. We had also the opportunity to meet Ivana's family because we slept it her house, we will not forget their sweet hospitality and their friendly welcome in Virpazar!

Just go along with the golden frog on a trip on Lake Skadar. You can choose the length of the trip and also the route you want to take. There are enough opportunities to swim during the trip (lovely when its hot). The captain of the ship is Ivana, only 14, but she speaks good English. This boat has a maximum of ten or maybe twelve persons so its definitely not a big tourist boat.Just take this trip and get a little surprise at the end...

We had a fantastic day on the Golden Frog with Ivana and the driver, all the communication was excellent, we had prebooked in the UK but the weather was looking poor so we spoke to Ivana the evening before and again the morning of our trip.We had one of our best days out ever, a truly memorable day for the beautiful scenery and gorgeous lake swimming. We were on the trip for a total of eight hours in the end with a lovely little restaurant lunch - the time flew by and we were sorry to get off the boat.Ivana speaks excellent English and tailors the trip to what you want to see and do. Virpasar is a pretty little town with a few hotels and places to eat and some winerys - watch for tortoises on the road!

We had a magical day yesterday on Lake Skadar. We hired a traditional wooden motor boat ('The Golden Frog') with its brilliant teenage English-speaking guide (Ivana) and warm-hearted captain (Slavisa). Please note the correct number for English speakers is +382 69 402 776.We spent 5 hours out on the lake altogether: we explored lots of little waterways and saw lots of flora and fauna; we stopped off at Kom monastery and saw how the monks live; (the resident black cat there followed us all the way back down the steps and jumped onto the boat with us!); we paused a couple of times to go swimming in the beautiful fresh water; we ate yummy home-cooked food made by Ivana's mother; and had a cold beer on the way home - all for 90 euros for our family of four. Everyone slept well !!

Great tour, best value for money!See real contact number of the golden frog below. We found that boat via tripadvisor and couldn't believe that all reviews were 5stars. But now we now why! It was absolutely great, we called the night before at 22pm and could still book a trip for the next day at 2pm. Ivana who organised the tour is quite young but the best guide ever and super flexible with excellent English. Slavisa the captain is a funny guy and absolutely friendly (but speaks no English though) with some background stories of the region, all translated by Ivana. They also brought homemade local food (honey, special cooked bread + cheese) and drinks , absolutely yummy! We wanted to do a 3-4 hours tour including some swimming. We did cliff jumping (the captain showed some special skills) on top and the tour through the nature/green area of the lake was so nice that we extended to 5 hours. The boat is very beautiful all made of wood and quite new (only 4 years). All in all, the best value for money you can get, don't miss it! -------Contact in lonely planet is wrong, here the real numbers:Ivana: +38269402776markovicka2000@gmail.com-------

We hired Ivana and her driver for the day and loved it. Ivana loves the lake is very knowledgeable of its history. Ivana went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, to answer our questions, and to show us the culture. She brought homemade muffins and fresh honey from her Uncles. She had brought sodas for the kids and a homemade wine for the adult to sample. Lunch was at a secluded restaurant that had a limited selection, but was delicious and quaint. She then took us to spot where we could rock dive. It was fantastic and the kid loved it. We were all very impressed Ivana and her business. We were out for longer than the contracted time and no extra charge was added. Very reasonable price.
