The church is situated in an elevated position above Savina, walking distance of Herceg Novi old town. It is quaint with scenic views & if you are in the area it makes for a nice visit but not worth going out of your way to see.

I would love to get married here! It's a quaint church nestled atop Herceg Novi's square, surrounded by a beautiful square from an era gone by with the stunning Adriatic nearby. I can still feel the warm breaze and taste the salty air. A feeling I will never forget. It has that charm and feeling from the movie Chocolat.

We have vidited monastery this year. It's small monastery, but with nice inside and outside. I saw much better places, so this one really didn't impress me. Intetesting is because it'd relatively close to the sea.

This is a lovely little monastery, with a lot of very old detail and religious iconography etc.Well worth visiting.

Savina monastery is very nice, situated a bit away from the center of the city. It is located on the hill from where the view is really picturesque.

The monastery is about 1.5km from the bus station or the old town. if you take a taxi, it would be around 2-3€ for the trip. There should be BlueLine bus traveling nearby. You could try the local Kotor direction bus to drop by at the big intercection with the big monastery sign. The monastery is not hard to walk up from the road. It has a nice ocean view also. The bath room is located in the regidencial area behind the back gate.

The monastery Savina is located in one of the most beautiful bays in the world – bay of Boka Kotorska. It is located 2 kilometers away from Herceg Novi in thick Mediterranean forest. It is situated on the hill from which the view stretches over Lustica and Ostri Rt (Sharp cape), as well as on Topla in whose hinterland plain Sutorina is located. On the east side the view goes towards Tivat bay, above which raises giant Lovcen. It was built by the Duke of Saint Sava, Stjepan Vukcic Kosaca of HerzegovinaThis medieval monastery has three churches of which two of them are dedicated to Uspenje Bogorodice (Falling into sleep of Holy Mother of God). It has sleeping quarters with treasury, and a separated church of Sveti Sava (St. Sava)

Medieval Savina Monastery is located 2 km east of Herceg Novi. One of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in the Adriatic. The greatest value of this church is a large iconostasis. Extends around an old cemetery, and to live and thirsty there is a fountain with fresh water. I lit a candle for the dead in the lower part and to live in the upper part where the fallen thin, yellow wax candles-so required by regulations in Orthodoxy.

Out of curiosity we went to this Orthodox monastery (we come from Catholic church). It was just in time for the function which we joined. Then I wondered around to make some pictures, and when the function was over the priests invited us to join with all the other people who assisted the function to have a watermelon with them! That was a great diversionI suggest you take a taxi to go there

Orthodox Savina Monastery is a complex of three churches and two cemeteries. The oldest church was built in 11th century. I know that many relics are kept in monastery, but I know about them very little, so I can’t describe them. Savina Monastery is a very beautiful calm and peaceful place. We were there at the very end of August, but there were only a few visitors except us. The atmosphere is really special, entering the monastery you start to feel the holiness of this place. The main big Temple is very beautiful, the surroundings are full of trees. There is a stone stairway to the small upper church, the road among the trees is charming, the trees give thick shade to it and you can feel the pleasant freshness. It is nice to sit relaxing near the upper church. The well-attended cemeteries inspire the thoughts of eternity. The view of the Kotor bay from the monastery is picturesque. Several small cute cats live there. They amazed me, as they seemed to meet and lead us all our way to the upper church and back, they even waited for us there. They behaved like friendly but a bit precautious dogs. Savina Monastery gives you a special feeling of peace and placidity and puts you in a good spirit.

It is very old monastery, situated in Herceg Novi, it is one of the most beautiful architectural building in Boka bay, when you come inside you can feel spirit, it is place for people who like history, tradition, culture, art.

Хорошо, после шумного пляжного утра, отобедать в рестранчике на набережной, а затем махнуть в монастырь, на окраину городка. Погулять в тишине, побродить по тропинкам, восхитится великими деревьями, кторые помнят прадедов наших, а может и Суворова!А быват так, что разззз!!!! и одним гудком тебя вырывает из багости в шумный/современный мир - это круизный лайнер проходит по форватеру боки!
