We went on Sunday morning late in the summer. We didn't come expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised with the park. The beach area was clean and had plenty of room. There is a play area but it's nothing but a slide and tire swing. There were lots of people bbqing and having picnics. It was $4 well spent.

Shoal Creek Campground at beautiful Lake Lanier in Buford Ga is a wonderful get-a-way right in the city! This is a active campground. With a Beach, boat dock, playground, hiking trails and over 100 camp sites for tents to class A RV's. There is even a propane refill station! It is close to Buford Dam where there are miles of easy lake side trails. We were here with 37 other campers and it was a perfect accommodation. All amenities awe with in only a few miles. Restaurants, shops, the Mall of Georgia and more. All in all a great in town get a way!

We frequent here often. This is a very nice park with plenty of picnic tables, pavilions, beaches, places to bank fish, and provides lot's of walking. There is no boat ramp located here, but a few right next door. If you plan on using the boat ramps or visiting the parks frequently, buy an annual pass for $35 (instead of $4 a trip). Oh yeah, there is always a park ranger roaming around and writing tickets for cars that do not pay at the self-pay station. Don't be cheap, you will get a ticket!

Just about half an hr north of Atlanta, this park has a designated swimming beach, picnic tables and a good looking sandy beach to play in. Went there during the memorial day weekend and it was packed to the rim with locals. Entry is free but there is a parking charge of $4 per vehicle and $1 for pedestrians. Pets aren't allowed but we did spot some people who had smuggled in their tiny furried companions.
