My husband and I came to Ellijay 2 weeks ago, saw the reviews and had to go. So So glad we did. Loved the place and feel so blessed to meet Ms. Wanda! What a gracious, knowledgeable person she is. She has a wonderful way of teaching and sharing the farm life. Loved the store and will be back!

Read great reviews for this farm and made it a priority to stop in, and am I glad we did. My husband and I first went to the farm store which held many products all from either the farm itself or other local farms. Grass fed beef, free range eggs, cheeses, honey and ice cream to name a few. I could go on and on. Outside they have some of their animals. Rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs, and a jersey cow. One staff member, who was so gracious and sweet, took the time to explain to us what they do on the farm and about all of the animals she was caring for. So informative! I didn't anticipate to learn as much as I did! Great trip! Excellent staff!!

Mountain Valley Farm is definitely out of the way, but sooooo worth it. The beef and pork (including bacon) is absolutely delicious and worth every penny if you are concerned (as we are) about eating grass fed beef! There are many products available at the farm from home made jams, jelly, pickled veggies, raw milk for your pets and huge blocks of fresh creamery butter. While all of this is wonderful, our favorite thing to do is to take our little 1 yr old grand to the farm and let him pet the goats, sheep, pigs, horse and cows. He loves to try to catch the bunny as well. Mountain Valley Farm is a great place for the whole family. Well worth the excursion off the beaten path!

We found this farm from Tripadvisor reviews and fell in love. We have a cabin in Ellijay and I was up late looking for something different to do today and found this farm. We had 5 kids 10 and under with us and we all loved our time there. The small petting zoo type setting was really awesome. We all were able to hold a 17 day old baby boy goat! The kids also held a bunny and got to say hello to Bella, the sheep. The pigs were hilarious and best of all the farm has an awesome tree that my kids could not stay out of. The ice cream inside -from Ashville-is wonderful! We bought a grass fed filet to try the brown butter way tonight and cannot wait! The kids have already asked to go back tomorrow. I can tell this will be a weekend regular spot for us!

I found this place while searching for butchers in the Ellijay/Blue Ridge area. Can't wait to eat the whole beef tenderloin. The kids had great time seeing all the small farm animals up close. Worth the trip!

We've taken our family here 2 times now. They have a great little farm with pigs, sheep, bunnies and goats that your kids can pet and feed leaves to. The farm is located in a beautiful valley. They have a store on site where they sell meat, milk, butter, etc. They also have ice cream for sale there which you have to try. The grass fed ground beef is as smooth as better and makes a great burger. The sausage is delicious. Good prices on the meat also. Pack a cooler with ice before you go.

I've been coming here a while and live the atmosphere, food products, and people. The kids will love the ice cream and the farm animals (I love these too!). You won't regret a visit here.

Life has a way of placing you in the right place at the right time! My wife and I had out of town visitors and we decided to take them to visit the park at Amicola Falls in the north Georgia mountains. I foolishly decided to wait to get gas until we were already well committed to the park visit. It is fairly remote and there is no nearby town, no gas, NO phone and even limited GPS service for much of the last leg, so I wanted to know where the nearest gas station was. The park visitor center guide sent me to the Crossroads Grocery, 12 miles from the park entrance. The store was a welcome sight, and as I paid for the gas, I noticed a brochure for Mountain Valley Farm, a short distance from the store. The brochure talked about farm raised dry aged, grass fed beef, free range pork, and local dairy products. Since we are trying to eat healthier foods, we decided to visit the farm. It is in a peaceful, beautiful valley that radiates tranquility. We were the only visitors to the farm store at the time, and Becky explained every product to us. I ordered a number of the dry aged filets, rib eye steaks, New York strips, baby back ribs, fresh eggs, and whole milk (for pets (-;). Becky gave us price lists and preparation instructions that were interesting and very helpful. That evening, I cooked the NY strip and the filets on the grill, and I have to say that everyone raved about the beef, even family members who usually do not care so much for it. The beef was amazing - tender, flavorful, and juicy! It has to rank up there with the best steaks I have ever tasted anywhere. If you care about hormones, antibiotics, steroids, pesticides and chemicals in your food, take a trip to the country and visit these great folks. You will not be disappointed!

My first visit to the farm store today. It was a beautiful drive. However, as a vegan and animal activist, I almost turned around when I saw the large, industrialized chicken warehouses surrounding the store on almost every side. Inside, they explained that the store is on "family land" and the owners' son has the warehouses. Their philosophy is apparently very different than their son's and they do not get their chicken from him. According to the staff, all of their products come from pasteured animals, humanely raised and cared for. I encouraged my meat and dairy eating family members and friends to buy their products. So much better than buying from the grocery store!! And I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and photographing all the baby farm animals!

Since visiting the farm this past July, we have ordered 3 times. The shipment is fast and packed extremely well. We have order the rib eyes, pork chops, beef brisket, butter, pork belly, bacon..well just about everything. ALL excellent quality and great tasting. We are still so very pleased we found this gem.

We are fortunate enough to live just 15 minutes from Mountain Valley Farm and get to go there quite often. Their products are great! We were just there yesterday and we had New York Strips last night cooked in butter bought from there and they just melted in our mouths. I just finished preparing some of their ribs (injected and rubbed) to marinade a few hours then they are going on the smoker. The fall color on the mountains above the valley is almost at peak and the place is gorgeous right now. It is the prettiest farm I have ever seen. We HIGHLY recommend this farm for great food that is chemical and steroid free the way God intended it! Oh and don't miss the chance to talk to Wanda over at the animal petting section. She is such a gentle and kind soul! :-)

I've been coming here for about a year now for my meats, cheeses, and when I can, my farm fresh butter and eggs. The meat is really good; they carry (among other items) various cuts of steaks, regular and Italian sausage, bacon (absolutely wonderful for those special occasion breakfasts) and great ground beef. They have a plethora of cheeses, and I can't stop myself from buying some every time I go. They have farm-fresh milk, butter, and eggs, and they carry a line of canned goods. The service is great, and the little drive is worth it for the food alone, but if one has children they also have almost a mini-farm for them, where they can see goats and cows and rabbits and chickens, and oh my! I believe this is free and is located next to the farm's store. If you're in the area MVF is highly recommended.

We have visited this farm many times over the past year. It has been a working farm since 1840. We love going out to Mountain Valley Farm. My sons love the up close encounters with the animals. And I love seeing them learn about the farm. It is a great experience. And the farm store is full of delicious things.

My husband, son and I just returned from our annual fall weekend to the mountains. We went to the Apple Festival, shopped, went to Mercier Orchards and loaded up on apples but by far my most favorite activity we did was go to Mountain Top Farm. It is a bit off the beaten path but really didn't take more than 10 minutes off the main road. ( Great signs to follow so you know you are heading the right way) It is just a short drive from BJ Reece Orchards. They have the cutest animals that you can hang with and the nicest people work there. The ice cream is absolutely the best I have ever tasted and the meat we purchased was amazing! Can't say enough nice things about this place. We took pictures and I just keep looking at them wishing I could go back tomorrow. Do not miss this little gem.

After reading about the ice cream on TA we made the trip from Ellijay and were so glad we did! We picked up steaks and butter and of course ice cream. It was the best ice cream we have ever had! We had the opportunity to meet the owner Suzy. We left with steaks that were excellent. Very tender. It was so good we drove an hour and a half before going home to get more ice cream and a cooler full of meat! Can't wait to go back next year
