Built in 1886, the Euharlee Covered Bridge is the state's oldest remaining covered bridge. It's 138 feet long, closed to traffic, but open to pedestrians. It's in good condition and is a good example of the construction style known as town lattice. Nearby is the Euharlee History Museum, an interesting exhibition of local history, the ruins of an old electric generating plant, and a visitor's well. Just a few miles off I75 and west of Cartersville, the complex is definitely worth driving off the beaten path to see. It's one of the best maintained covered bridges in Georgia.
