The Hart State Park is right down the street from the power plant (no, you can't hear it) and is a nice small park with tables, a boat ramp and dock, bathrooms, a playground, and abundant access to the water. There is no cost and, although you can't see the power plant, the park has more than enough to enjoy. Parking was amble and the walk to the pick nick tables was extremely convenient. The bathrooms were older, but clean and efficient.

It's always fun to camp on Lake Hartwell. Hart State Park has great amenities. You can walk or bike around the park. Our kids ski, kayak or swim. We always have a great time

The park is ideal for swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing on Lake Hartwell - a 50,000 plus acre reservoir. There are many picnic tables, children's playground, campsites, etc. The only disadvantage is a 90 minutes drive from Atlanta, mostly on Interstate 85.

I love state parks and was very happy when my grandparents took me here. Its so pretty and peaceful and would love to go back and hike since I saw so many hiking paths.

Hartwell has a nice place to walk and relax. It is quiet and peaceful and never crowded. You will enjoy this sweet little spot to see the sun rise or set, Hartwell is a small town but a wonderful place to live and raise a family. We have Wal Mart for shopping and good places on the lake to picnic and enjoy other water activities. More and more people are coming here because other lakes are becoming overcrowded especially in Georgia.

Most sites are waterfront. You can tie your boat to the shore for easy access. Five minutes from town.
