Love the historic woodwork and the creaking wood floors. Parking is a little challenging , but worth the hassle .

Went during the New Years Eve celebration a few years ago. It is in a charming town square, and houses an impressive collection of authentic military uniforms, gear, etc. all donated by citizens of Gwinnett county. This is a free exhibit, but donations are appreciated. Fascinating and worth doing on a rainy afternoon!

Here for a wedding. Had no idea Larry Flynt was shot right there. That made it interesting - especially since you are outside of central Atlanta and it's conservative - so don't expect any kind of marker explaining that. Great venue. The two cops that were assigned to the wedding were SUPER cool. Go Lawrenceville.

We were mostly upstairs at the wedding reception but the courthouse was beautiful. Rich wooden floors. Very well preserved. The set up for the food at the reception was not ideal. One long line through the kitchen and out made for a long wait.

The veterans displays in several of the rooms were very good and it covered all of the war eras. The Justice of the Peace's chambers were set up for a wedding and the hallway was being decorated for a reception.

The last Friday evening of every month (May-Sept.), local musical talent is featured on the green, outside of the courthouse. The traffic gets "tight" and streets are blocked off, so drivers beware, but it makes for a good, FREE night out on the town. I should mention that there are several upscale, good-eats restaurants within a 1 or 2-minute walk.

Loved the architecture of this historic courthouse. Very interesting veteran's memorial exhibit. Original courthouse upstairs is beautiful!

The historic courthouse is a great venue, and especially picturesque for an old time wedding. The upstairs courtroom is beautifully finished and makes a lovely backdrop for wedding, dinners, or any social event. There is usually an art exhibit downstairs, which also adds to the beauty of the location.

this place just oozes history. my parents actually got married there so it is fun to go back and remember where it all started.

Great to read about the history of the courthouse, then have some lunch at McCrays or Local Republic.

A wonderful beautiful venue for weddings and special celebrations, this fantastic place, also in still being used for the local government services. Inside, besides, government services is the Gwinnett Historical Society, which "collects, preserves and perpetuates" the historic heritage of Gwinnett Co. It has a genealogy library, a microfilm room, and many county and family records along with a county related bookstore, vintage photo collection and much more. There is a Military Museum as well. The lawn and grounds host many events, craft fairs, music fairs and all kind of outdoor festivals and concerts. It is extremely inexpensive to rent!! The courthouse is the heart of Lawrenceville and my whole family goes there at Christmas for photos and to enjoy the decorations. We look forward to the festivals and always take out of town visitors to see this lovey place. Not to be missed.

The staff was wonderful with everything we needed and everything went super smooth!!!! If your planning on a wedding, check this historic courthouse out!!!

This was one mile away from my 17 year home. We went there so many times. Weddings, receptions, just to the museam, during festivals, for family photo shoots and more. We have done every festival, concert and "taste of" on the grounds. My kids know every corner by heart

I took my son to see the art exhibit there for a Boy Scout Merit Badge. The art work was interesting and well laid out. What we didn't expect was the Military Museum rooms. Holy Cow! Just about every campaign the US has been involved in is represented there. You must go and hurry. Places like this are scarce and the Federal Goverment would love to close it down. Let your State Legislator know how much you appreciate the Historic Courthouse. Highly Recommended.

If I could give them less than one star I would. We have had our wedding booked there for an entire year and I found out that they had another bride's rehearsal dinner scheduled literarily 30 min before my wedding starts. We will both be on the property at the same time. When I went to ask that they fix the problem they said “It is our property and we can rent it out as we see fit, we do not consider this double booking” The female staff at this venue are the rudest women I have ever dealt with they told me they hoped I found another venue because they didn’t want to deal with me because I was over reacting to their DOUBLE BOOKING THE VENUE ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING. They implied that her wedding was bigger so she’s bringing more revenue than I am so therefore I am less important!I know what many brides are thinking “they are the cheapest in town” but when you add up all their fees for renting chairs and table linins, bar tender fees, police officer fees, having to pay for someone to clean up and renting out decorations they come out much more expensive then they originally appear. And you factor in that you will have to do all your own set up (of your decorations), the huge restrictions they have on everything, the rudeness of their female staff (the people you will actually be dealing with for your wedding) and the stress of having to worry about them booking other events on your wedding day. This VENUE IS NOT WORTH IT! We broke our contract we are saving a $1,000 in the long run with our new vendor.
