This gem is located on Broad Street in the heart of historic Rome and is well worth the time you devote to Rome's past and present. The museum had just been refurbished and the exhibits highlight different eras of the city's development in medicine, education, and commerce. From the early Cherokee settlers thru today, you will love your time and you will love the smiling faces that greet you.Take the time to visit Historic Downtown Rome. You won't regret it.

At the time I went they were having a festival of trees Christmas display as well. My out of town guests were impressed. There were some tales of the past on the lower floor that were particularly interesting.

Took my 12 and 13 year old this February and they smiled around every corner. My daughter loved the old school days exhibit and my son read every article on every wall. What a nice way to pay respect to your town and community .

During a recent stop in Rome a friend and I noticed the clock/water tower on one of the 7 hills in town and wondered about the history of the town and stopped in at the museum. Very friendly person working there. There is no admission charge. Interesting small town museum with lots of exhibits about the local history from the indian (native americans -- trail of tears) lottery to Pirelli (north American headquarters). Nice temporary Coca-Cola exhibit from the local bottling plant family (1st bottler way back when). Small gift shop.
