stone mountain glass shop

While trying to warm up at the Christmas festival this year, we stopped in to the Glass Shop inside the park. It was beautiful and the demonstrators were very knowledgeable. They didn't have much in terms of what you could purchase and the price ranges weren't helpful for all income brackets, but it was gorgeous work. The viewing area for demonstrations was also fairly small. Being it was winter, the open air area was fairly cold as well.

If your here in Georgia USA you need to go to the Stone Mountains and discover the finest glass art of its kind. Use some time and see the art being made just in front of you.Amazing how they mix colors, glitter and shapes,can't describe it with words,you need to go and see it for your self.So many beautiful things in the shop,that you can get very poor pretty fast ~smile~

Walking around the base of stone mountaon after hiking up and back down I wondered into this little glass blowing shop. All the other places around the mountain are tourits traps and this one probably is too but it was really cool to see them making the glass peices. They answered my questions about the process and were very friendly. I bought a shot glass and a glass bracelet as presenys for family members. They were a little pricey but i figured i was helpung to support the artists. Where else could these guys do this type of work... yah know? Absolutely loved it. I will go back again when I'm in town.

Glass making was in progress while we were there and it made the visit to the Glass Shop very entertaining. Many pieces of glass available for viewing and purchase. Great to see!!

Step back in time and see how glass blowers work their trade, only the glassblower wasn't there when we visited yesterday. Boooo. It was still very very cool. There are many glass art pieces for sale and the work area of the glass blower is displayed. We will have to come back to see the blower in action, even without him there it was a great visit. If you are in the park, stop in.
