Don't be misled - this is really just a tourist gift shop. Sure, there is a view of the Gorge, but if you really want to see the gorge area - go to the State Park just across the bridge. You will be much happier with the experience. We were!

On my way to Highlands, or even just in the area. Beautiful Native Indian Jewelry, snacks, toys, etc. a must stop if you are ever nearby.

Great place to stop if you are in the area. Gift shop filled with local crafts, plus a nice view of the gorge.

If you want a pretty good view of Talullah Gorge without the hike, this is a good stop for you. The view isn't really great... some of the foliage has grown up and is in the way of the view, but you can certainly get the idea. The overlook is free. There are some old articles there about the history of the gorge, especially of Wallenda's walk across. It is also a great old timey country store. We had as much fun in the store as at the overlook. This is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. It won't take you but a minute to see the gorge. There is a barbeque restaurant there, but we didn't eat at it. It did smell good.......

Totally worth the quick drive off the main road. The views are really pretty and the gift shop is really fun. There is also a restaurant, but we did not eat there. There are some funny old cut outs to get pictures in.

This is a must stop spot, The views from the deck are stunning and the shop has a lot cute nick knacks.

The Tallulah Gorge Overlook provides the best view of the world famous Tallulah Gorge, where daredevils such as Karl Wallenda have walked tight ropes, and where movies such as Deliverance were made in the 1970's when I was a child and adolescent. Each summer we would visit nearby Lake Rabun or attend Athens Y Camp, located not far away from the gorge. Each summer, the Tallulah Overlook became a family tradition where the best views of the gorge, the rustic mountain art with apple cider and the souvenir shop inside drew us near. At Athens Y Camp we often stopped by for Cokes and candy bars after hiking down the gorge to slide down the slippery rock, then hiking back out in a grueling trip out. Today there is also a wonderful country barbecue place located on the top floor. The Tallulah Gorge, located on the 441 bypass is worth the visit and may start new family traditions and set landmarks for generations to come. Highly recommend.

The TPO is on a feeder road off Highway 23N. The selection of homemade and handmade crafts is worth a look, and the prices are affordable. Out the back door is a rocking chair porch overlooking the Tallulah Gorge. Our timing was not the best, as I am certain the colorful view at peak season must be breathtaking.

Remember when you used to travel down the road and suddenly in the middle of nowhere there would suddenly be a roadside attraction you just had to stop at? Prior to the construction of the 4 lane hwy 441 through the Tallulah Gorge area it was just winding two lane highway that ran right along the edge of the gorge and Tallulah Point was your welcome to the area. This past weekend it was so good to see that folks are taking the short detour off the main drag to check out this iconic roadside classic. Their overlook deck provides a great few of the gorge. A cooler full of soft drinks on ice is waiting on you as well as a good selection of snacks and north Georgia specialty products. Also maps, books and cookbooks fill one section. And what good tourist stop would be complete without toys for the kids. Glad we rediscovered this treasure and can't wait for the return trip!

We were happy to discover a wide variety of local arts, foods, and handicrafts at the overlook. They also carry many national brands but the wide variety of local goods was much better than many of the local "souvenir" stands.

Tallulah Falls offers a great opportunity for viewing beautiful waterfalls, mountains, and nature at its most beautiful all while taking an aggressive hike up and down 1000 steps!! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for an easy day trip from Atlanta. Well worth the 1-1/2 hour drive.

Just as we were about to make the continue on Rt 441 there was a sign for this 100 year old roadside store on the Tallulah Gorge Scenic Loop. For whatever reason we made the turn and shortly saw this 1912 clapboard store front stretching along the side of the road. It consisted of a general store, post office, BBQ diner and several small former roadside motel rooms now converted to antique shops. Inside are a collection of toys, some handmade, from by-gone days, local crafts, an assortment of local ciders and sodas. An added bonus is free access to a grand view of the Tullulah Gorge and river fat below the rear deck. It is an awesome view down This was a great stop on our trip through the Smokey Mountains.

My husband and I stopped in twice on our trip. They have lots of locally made items. We bought nine bottles of cider and three blocks of homemade rosemary soap. The shop keepers were helpful, friendly and low key. There is a lovely view of the falls and a sweet little flower garden. Stop in ..... you will undoubtedly find a great souvenir (made locally and reasonably priced) and enjoy a view of the falls.
