Awesome place, like stepping back in time. Loved the hay ride and the Tift house, it is beautiful. The train ride to and from was great, an old steam engine.

This is like stepping back in time. You get a feel for what life was like on a post Civil War Era farm. you see how they lived and get some idea of what daily life was like for them. It is not romanticized or sanitized view. A lot of what you see was still very much the same on small farms until the mid-fifties. I grew up in these surroundings and it brings back memories of both good and bad times. You learn much more about how self reliant these people had to be. It is a true educational experience for the entire family.

This is a wonderful place to go as a family adventure. Its something that can be very knowledgeable for your kids but also yourself. I found it kind of cool to be able to "re-live the old days."

Out on the lawn with sausage dogs and fireworks! Our family had so much fun watching the different singers and the program they put on was very good.

While on the road filming for our National Gardening Series "Eye On Gardening" we stopped in to film an episode at this location and was blown away by the history, hospitality, great food & train ride experience... we actually filmed for 2- 1/2 hr. series features. If your a history buff, love trains, tractors and the country life, This Location is a Must See :)You will have a great time taking a walk back thru the past when life was without the modern comforts we have today, but before you leave you'll see perhaps how much better off we were then without all the tech thrills of today. We stopped and visited with our children in the mid 90's and found ourselves stopping by ourselves on the way northeast taking in the sights and scenery along the way.The Agrirama has continually changed and added more over the years for the better. This is an excellent stop for families with children especially if you're homeschooling families like we were. I cannot think of a better way to see our history than to be immersed in it.Without the hard work and dedication of these workers attractions like this it would be hard to explain to children just what it would have been like without the comforts that we have come to expect. If you have young children and can spare a few hours of your trip we think you will be glad you did.

Turn of the century "village" which shows how life really was in the early 1900's. There is something for the whole family. Requires walking but well worth it. Buildings have been donated from all over and all are authentic.

I first came here as a child many years ago and now we are bringing our children. It has changed over the years, but only for the better. There is so much to see and for the kids to learn. The staff are very knowledgeable and provide many hands on opportunities for the kids.

I am old enough to remember some of the things that are presented at the Agrirama. I have visited several times over the years, and now, having moved back to the area, it is a nice retreat on occasion for me and my family. The old houses and the active farm bring back memories of some places I have visited as a child, and the people who lived there. I also love the collection of old farm tractors. There is one there like the one I used to drive when I was about six years old. It was delightful to me to be able to show it to my daughter, who, by the way, loves the place as well.

Adults and children will enjoy a living history museum with authentic houses,stores and farm equipment and artifacts from the early 1900's. Farm animals, a steam powered locomotive train to ride ,a great country store and special monthly activities.
