I've seen numerous Broadway musicals and the Alliance Theater presentation of 'Tuck Everlasting' fell short of the New York standard in NO discernible way. The venue is nicely appointed (not so large that the play can't be fully appreciated) and the front of house folks from the ushers to the ticketing personnel were friendly and efficient. As for the presentation, the production design was top notch; however, the musical 'Tuck Everlasting' was the star! From the original music and choreography to the exceptional quality of both the acting and vocal performances ... I repeat 'Bravo and Well Done'!

Enjoyed performance, storyline, and cast, special to see another performance of Brad Anderson. Exceptional singing, choreography.

We attended the last performance of "It's a Wonderful Laugh" by Dad's Garage on the Hertz Stage. VERY disappointed!! We expected the cast to be in a groove by the last performance. They were not. This was supposed to be improv. It seemed forced at times. They did a warning about language, so the f-bomb was not unexpected - and it was used a lot. Sadly, a repeated attempt to use fist-f***ing as comedy just proved a lack of talent by some of the cast! This was a waste of two hours of our Saturday night. Ruined an otherwise nice weekend trip.

The Alliance, located in the Woodruff Arts Center, is a Broadway capacity theater in which, as others have commented, there is really no bad seat in the house. The seats are comfortable, the stage is impressive in its technicals, and depending upon the show, it's a real gem of a theater experience.I get the railings along the aisles, and agree that the support is certainly helpful to those navigating their way to their seats, but mid performance, they are a bit of an eyesore. We've seen A Christmas Carol of recent. The show is very well done. The acting is very good, the music is appropriately Dickens-ish, and the set design, mechanics, and effects are very, very good. Try as they might, some of the performers' voice projection was difficult to hear at times. The acoustics of the theater are good, but not great. That said, the experience was a very good one.Because the theater is part of a larger Arts complex, you may find the facilities "far." But overall, the place is one of the nice finds in Atlanta. This is a more intimate theater experience than the Fox or the Cobb Energy Center, and it's something a place like Atlanta really needs. Well done.

Apparently the actor playing Scrooge is new to the role replacing one who had done this for several years but he did the character well. the entire cast and production make this a must see holiday event in Atlanta.

The Alliance Theatre is great place to go on a night out with your significant other or with the family. The Woodruff Arts Center is beautiful and the staff in very kinds. I really thought that the seating is set-up to accommodate everyone that has attended. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. I can not wait until the next show.

Staff was so helpful and accommodating- got there late (parking in Atlanta) and they were never snotty about it, just the opposite. They kept reassuring us it was ok! Play was awesome, really well done. Great way to kick off the holiday season!

I go to the Alliance at least 5 times per year. The acoustics are great, and there's not a bad seat in the house. I like the open seating at the Hertz Theatre and in the balcony in the main auditorium at the Woodruff. I most recently saw the wonderful "Bill Durham" and "Native Guard". I go to "Scrooge" every year in December. Great actors make their shows a must to see.

We went to Steel Magnolias on closing night. I will say this facilities lobby is beautiful. I really enjoyed the ambiance of everyone milling around and the feel of the bartenders being at bars in the middle of the lobby- it made it feel more like a cocktail party than purchasing concessions like most theater have you do. I had read that there is not a bad seat in the house- that's incorrect. We sat orchestra right and a lot of the stage was blocked. I would sit in the orchestra over the balcony any day though. Very intimate feeling theater without being small. If I am in town- I would look to see if anything is playing.

Alliance Theater is a great place to see a play. The actresses in Steel Magnolias were excellent. Theater was very clean and staff & volunteers were very nice & cheerful

I went here to see Bull Durham which was a fantastic show! The staff is all really friendly here and because it isn't enormous I met the cast members after the show. It was a great time!

The talent the Alliance Theatre brings to Atlanta is amazing! I've enjoyed every show we've been to. We are season ticket holders and it is worth the money spent.

My wife, daughter and I went to a play at the Alliance yesterday, we saw Steel Magnolias - it was really good. The Alliance is a great place to see a play, we always sit on the bottom level and really you have a good view from almost any seat. I would just stay away from the far right or left sides. Shows are very reasonably price. I would recommend that you prepay for parking, just to make sure you have a spot in the underground garage. You could make a day of it and visit the Arts Museum and eat at Table 1280.

so I've seen bull Durham and now steel magnolias both really wonderful productions. The audience was enthusiastic for both performances and the intimate seating in the relatively small theater makes almost any seat desirable.I'm looking forward to the next production which is Tuck everlasting.

Well, we are huge supporters of the Arts and I must say it is a nice intimate theatre and has lots of great events and performances. However, my complaint really is about entertainment venues across the board, sorry I have to pick the Alliance Theatre as one of the example, simply because we just bought tickets recently from here. Why do we have to pay a "service fee" when we print the tickets at home? What do they do what they " hold " the tickets at their box office? in face, it is quite a steep charge too, $5 each to print your own ticket, $10 each to hold your ticket at the box office. It is my ink, my printer and my electricity that I am using, why do I have to pay the theatre to print out my tickets????Anyone feel the way I do? This is an outrage!!The day of pay for your services are gone, now, they down size staff, go electronic, charge you for self service, brilliant business model?? Please let them know if you feel the same way.
