Beautiful beadwork! Great collection of baskets and jars! Fairly small so it is doable in an hour or less. The price is right! Nice shop if you would like.

I stumbled on this and it proved to be a great find. The museum is fairly compact and laid out in a way that is easy to navigate. The young lady, Alyissa, working there was a great help. The museum focuses on the four tribes that make up the Colorado River Indian Tribes. They are the Mohave, Hopi, Navajo and Chemehuevi. The museum explains about the different tribes, and how the came to band together. There are numerous displays of their handy work including exquisitely designed native wares and necessary tools. There is an extensive collection of Chemehuevi baskets which is among the highlights. There is no fee to enter but contributions are greatly appreciated. There is a gift shop as you enter which is worth going through. There are no photos allowed in the museum so pictures of the wares displayed in the gift shop are worth some time.

Has many artifacts from the four tribes who use the region. Enjoyed the video showing the making of pottery.

July 12, 2009: The Colorado River Indian Tribe's Cultural Resource Director, Dr. Michael Tsosie has a top flight scholarly and a personal knowledge of life in the lower Colorado River Valley. The museum is moving to Parker's movie in the center of town and promises to be an interesting visit.
