This was our favorite of the 3 waterfalls - Navajo, Havasu, and Mooney. The climb down is not for everyone - but if you are in decent shape and not afraid of heights you should be able to do it. We ate lunch and I waded into the pool at the base of the falls. It was gorgeous! And we had it all to ourselves! Because we went during the week and prior to spring break ;)

After the campgrounds you will get to the fist of many water falls. To get to the base is tricky but it worth it (do it at your own risk and make sure you are not alone).

There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about Mooney Falls. It is a spectacular place of natural beauty that you should not miss. The hike there is truly stunning as well, it will make you feel closer to the Grand Canyon, you will gain a personal relationship to the canyon if you do this trip!

The ladders down would be challenging for anyone with a major fear of heights. Seeing the falls from the top or bottom is equally spectacular.

There is an 80 foot decent down the canyon wall. I did it, but what you must remember what goes down must come up....I did make it up. The climb is made holding onto chains attached to the canyon wall with spikes and foot holds in the canyon wall and then three wooden ladders takes you to the very bottom.

Two 65year old women (me and my friend) went here in November and didn't have problems with the climb up or down - lots to hang on to but some quite big steps. The reward for getting down is great - a lovely green area with beautiful turquoise falls and river. It was a bit cold for swimming but we paddled and picnicked and walked further down the trail to the crossing point. We didn't feel there was enough time to get down to Beaver and back to Supai before dark.

A nice climb down (and up) to this gateway for all down stream. Colder water as it is in the shade for most of the day and also the 3rd fall in a row with each on cooler than the previous. Beautiful.

The climb down to and up from Mooney Falls was an adventure and highlight of our time at Havasupai Falls. After reading reviews that many people can do the climb down Mooney Falls, I knew we had to do it even if it may have been a bit scary, especially given the distance we travelled to get there. It was a steep climb but the chains and rock formation make it possible, and I'd encourage anyone who is physically capable to not miss out on this. I found it easier to go down sitting on my bottom at times. Luckily it was not a busy time when we were there on Nov 2nd so we didn't feel rushed going down or up, and were able to take photos of Mooney Falls without others around (just one couple came a bit later). If you hike a bit further from the falls, there's a rock where you can sit on and enjoy a beautiful view of the falls. The falls are spectacular. We went during a time of the year when it was too cool to swim, but it was still worth the hike (given I'm not a big swimmer either).

Gorgeous waterfall! Worth the descent down to see! The climb down is a bit challenging but you can do it! The water is so blue and beautiful.

The climb down and then back up to Mooney is a bit challanging , two 60 year olds did it, with not looking down and hanging on, Our guide just told us to make sure we had 3 holds at all times. I was worried about going back up but it was easier than the trip down. It is beautiful and being able to do the climb makes it all the more worthwhile. Words or pictures cannot begin to describe the beauty of the falls, must see for yourself.

Not much to say other than it is so beautiful here. They have a fun little rope swing to jump into a pool on. You do have to do a little hair raising climb down in to the falls. Just take your time and don't look down and you will be fine. We explored down the river a little ways. Just gorgeous. We ate lunch on a picnic table that is set out in the water. How fun is that? There is decent camping near the falls. The rest rooms are very clean and nice. Get an Indian Fry Bread just up the trail. Yummy.

All of the waterfalls in the Havasupai Reservayion are gorgeous but Mooney Falls is the most rewarding. The trail down is a little scary but 2 almost 50 year olds in average shape were able to do it. It was like finding a piece if paradise. The base of the falls themselves was a little crowded but hiking along the water for just a bit we were able to find our own little place to enjoy. It was soectactular!

No words to describe. Simply amazing. Getting down to the falls is tricky. Read other reviews. But worth it.

Lot of people say that Mooney Falls is most beautiful waterfall in the world. And they may be right. The place is breath taking and worth 11 mile hike. Descent to the bottom of the waterfall may be a challenge, be careful. Personally I like Beaver Falls more then Mooney Falls, but to get to Beaver Falls you need to go to Mooney Falls and hike few miles more.

Taking the winding path through a cave, not handicap accessible, you climb almost 200 feet down. Use the chains and ladders to get down. The thundering sound is awesome and the cool water refreshing. Many stay there all day relaxing and jumping off the little falls just below.
