We tried the tubing track. The weather was just too warm and the tubes would only go about half way down the track and stop. But the kids still had fun. Elk Ridge itself was a very pretty little place and not at all busy. We will definitely be back in colder weather.

Our entire family had a great time inter tubing here and all the staff were nice and helpful. It is a very small family run place and the lodge is tiny but cozy. It's a very down home environment (read rustic) and a bit pricy for a family, but still well worth the fun. Directions here are tricky. We used google and gps and still missed our turn. It is barely labeled and no big signs, "this way to the skiing" or anything. So keep your eyes peeled and watch the mileage as it was farther from Williams than we expected. I'm not sure if we would do it again, but it certainly is a fun idea.

My son & I went to do some tubing. Cost was a bit pricey...$20 per person. If you go to Tourist Info bldg. by GC train tracks in town you can pick up a coupon for 1 free tubing if you spend $10 in food at the ski area. Didn't feel like eating a burger or other items they offer at 10:00 am, so didn't use coupon. Slopes were closed due to lack of snow & problem with tow rope. There were 2 runs for tubes, both a lot of fun. Just got tired of carrying heavy awkward tube up hill repeatedly, so didn't stay as long as we had planned. Employees were very nice & helpful.

I really can't rate the lodge itself but I would like to share my experience. We were in Williams for only a few days and traveling from Hawaii were very excited to "play" in snow! I contacted the lodge prior to our trip and was told that they would be closed on Christmas Day. Upon my arrival in Phoenix, I emailed them asking if reservations are needed for ski lessons. The response was no but again, that they would be closed on Christmas Day and the hours of business would be from 10 am - 4 pm. on the other days. We decided to go in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. We planned to be there by 1:00 (getting there was another story since we did not have a rental car) but was not able to get transportation within Williams so had a taxi from Flagstaff drive in to take us to the lodge. When we finally made it there (at about 3:00), the gates closed right in front of us and was told that they closed at 2:00 because it was Christmas Eve. I was so disappointed because this was the only day we had to check it out. No where on their website or emails did they say there was a chance of them closing early on Christmas Eve. I understand that it was Christmas Eve but I wish they had posted something about the hours for that day. If you decide to go during the holidays, please be sure to confirm their hours before going. I wouldn't want others to experience the same thing!

Small lodge. We didn't ski, we had hot cocoa and french fries. It was crowded, but we found a table.

Our family drove 2.5 hours to go tubing here. Their website clearly said, on the Home page in red, bold font, open 10-4 daily except Dec. 25. we got there at 2:00 and was told they were closed. All the employees pointed us toward the manager who said he called the website the night prior to update the hours. As we left the lodge, we checked the website and the hours still said 10-4. I would have been more understanding if the manager would have acted like he cared. There were a number of other parties coming into the ski lodge as we were, and they too were surprised of the new, unannounced hours. The manager was only concerned about getting us out of the parking lot and didn't bother to apologize for the inconvenience.

This is a great place for a beginner to go and learn how to ski or snowboard without the crowds. After a day of skiing and lessons, there is a flume ride for the kids to enjoy too.

We tubed with the smaller kids and the staff was wonderful. Making sure everything was safe and snow kept at the bottom of the drop off to prevent injury. Very courteous staff.

Fun for the family but the lift has never worked in all my trips there. No clue why but the pulley line is the only way to get up the mountain to ski. We enjoyed the snow slide with the kids and had fun building snowmen with the kids. We will go again. So much less crowded than snow bowl.

Came up from Phoenix to play in the snow. We had such a great weekend. Snowboarding, skiing and tubing!!! We had 3 children ranging from 9 - 15. and everyone had a great time! And the prices were reasonable in the rental shop and also in the Lodge!!!!

We had a great time tubing at Elk Ridge. The kids were free (2 & 4) and they charged the adults $5. great deal. They had 2 tubing runs open. The kids loved it, the adults had fun too. We ate lunch there, the prices were reasonable, and they have plenty of room to sit and eat. great place to stop for a couple of hours before heading to the polar express.

Will return! Disreagard the person who said it was "overrated". We visited intending to take the kids for a morning of sledding for Easter morning. When the receding snow (it is the very last days of the season) inhibited the kids speed the staff was quick to offer our family complementary skiing with complete rental package and ski lesson. Owner, "Tammy" was very personable and patient with our kids getting on the slopes herself! Her staff had a great sense of humor and made the day a very memorabe one. They have an Easter Egg hunt tradition in the snow and it was a big hit. The kids hunted in the snow for eggs and left with a ton of prizes including a day Jr. lift pass, gloves, and a day of tubing for a family of four. The staff made sure every single participant was happy- a rare quality we felt very thankful for. The snow season is coming to an end and having the chance to play in the snow and come back to Phoenix (3 hours) in time for dinner is a real treat. The lack of huge crowds and the added benefit of the Grand Canyon RR makes it a very family friendly weekend. We plan to go back in the summer to take advantage of the tubing hill when they make it a water tube slide and again next winter and really enjoy the snow before the season ends. It is just enough to thrill all ages. Highly reccomended for family who are looking for safety, fun and simplicity.

While in Williams to take the Polar Express train, we had the entire day before the train ride to find something to do. As my kids and husband had never been in snow, I thought it was very important to find something snow related to do. The drive out there is absolutely gorgeous. That alone was worth the drive. Once we arrived, we paid $28 for our family of four to tube all day. They have two tube runs for your family to enjoy. Although it is nothing fancy, it was a ton of fun. Every person in our group of 12 had a great time. The kids even made a snowman and had snowball fights. There is a small lodge to escape the cold. It has cocoa, coffee, hot dogs, fries, etc. that you can purchase for a reasonable cost.

This establishment is way overrated. There are a half dozen resorts around Flagstaff with a much broader array of services, better staff and far lower prices. Save your money and make the short drive.
