Used a Groupon for a sleigh ride but there was no snow! Two draft horses pulled our wagon into the woods. Our cowboy guides, JB and Nicky were friendly and entertaining! We rode for 20 mins then stopped for a cup of cocoa. Then back to the ranch. JB invited us to look around the ranch as well. The young kids on the ride loved it, my teen was not enthused. Therfore I would say tis is best for families with children or couples

Embarrassing Valentines day to say the LEAST!I bought the sleigh ride package that consisted of "Scenic views" ( you only go through the forrest... no real views other than trees here) camp fire - nice set up with stage coacheshot cocoa - okFOR TWO! (for two must of been the price of the package, this is misleading because in that trip that im thinking it will be just my wife and I, there were 5-6 other couples that we shared that entire "romantic" experience with.)the camp fire part did have a nice set up and i can not complain of the hot cocoa, but the entire experience had already been ruined...I spoke to other people in the group and they all thought they would be in a private setting with their valentine as well, it was akward seeing a lot of couple's dissapointed at the experience and i would never recommend the sleigh ride.

We arrived for our 9a reservations, but there was a mishap and they did not have us down for the reservation at that time. The staff was very kind and apologetic and told us we can come back at 1p and we did. The staff gave us a free smores kit for the mishap. The wagon ride was great!! Terry and Gabe were our drivers and they were funny and kind. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the kindness. We will definitely be back!!!

This was the best birthday party! Thank you Hitchin' Post Stables for making this such an awesome party!! My daughters really enjoyed the pony ring, hayride and petting zoo. Having the party area in the stables made it a real cowgirl party. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The BBQ cookout was excellent.... what an outstanding job the staff and Jenna (the Party coordinator) did. Everything was prefect!!!

we really enjoyed this adventure...the cowboys from the moment we stepped into the office to sign in were very jovial...the wagon ride to the campsite was fun, made so by the banter the cowboys kept up with everyone....we had the dinner at the campsite and the food was delish!!!! we had the steak and chicken dinners and they both were excellent...

I would of given the sleigh ride 5 stars, however I can't since it was only 20 minutes total. You can spend as long as you want at the campfire and the warming tents were a nice touch. The owner needs to revise the time listed for the ride itself. I'm glad I used a Groupon deal for close to 50% off.

We did the sleigh ride to the camp, where we enjoyed hot cocoa and s'mores round the camp fire. The staff were excellent, everyone was friendly, entertaining and knowledgable about the area. Once back at base, the owner went out of his way to introduce us to their horses. We had an excellent day. I would highly recommend this activity for both adults and children.

My husband and I purchased a "For Two: 2 Hour Trail Ride" Groupon for the Hitchin' Post Stables back in the Fall. With the expiration date soon approaching, we were pleased that they could accommodate reservations for us despite not giving them the preferred week advance notice. We were very appreciative of that! Our reservation was for a brisk January weekend morning ride with two other people and the trail guide...we were happy to be with a smaller, more intimate group. The horses are beautiful and so gentle. My husband and I have both done horseback trail rides before and there was no hesitation in riding these horses. We set off on our ride, making first tracks of the year in the beautiful snow blanketing the ground. It was STUNNING and if possible, we'd definitely recommend bundling up and going for a winter ride! The views were incredible and it really gave you a piece of the beauty for which Flagstaff is known. Our trail guide, Gabe, was so personable and made riding a complete ease (regardless of your past riding experience). He made sure to make us aware of common actions a horse might take in a given situation, terrain changes, and just little fun facts about the area as well as the horses. We suggest requesting him if given the opportunity. He was just one of the several staff members who made our experience enjoyable and really very memorable. Our ride lasted about 2 1/2 hours- it was great that we got a little extra time on the trails! We definitely didn't want it to come to an end. What a great memory to make and an experience to share with others! Highly recommended.

Trail hosts are billed as being "engaging", the 4 we met were bored and didn't talk much without our initiating it. For a 1 hour trip, your on the "sleigh" for a total of 15 minutes. They don't manage how long you're at the campfire area, so you better line up on your own or wait a long time out at the campfire area.

My wife and I took our Son, his Wife, and our three granddaughters on 12/29/14. While there was no snow on the ground for a real sleigh ride, it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff was friendly and the ride through the pines was great. The granddaughters really enjoyed having some s'mores in the warm tent. They also really enjoyed petting the horses afterwards. I highly recommend using a Groupon, if available.

This was our second visit to the Hitching Post Stables for a 1 hour trail ride. This year, my two children(ages 12 and 9) and I rode. It was truly an amazing, peaceful, and exciting experience. Our guide, Jeff, was so encouraging and really looked out for our safety. From the moment he met us at the check in, he made the experience a memorable one. We weren't interested in the sleigh or wagon rides. We wanted the opportunity to ride horses in a safe, peaceful environment. It was exactly that! The forest was quiet and all you could hear was the wind in the trees. Jeff made conversation from time to time, but really let us take the lead in that area. He was encouraging to my children and helped them out when necessary. Our lovely horses were calm, strong, and confident. Last year, we came and did the same ride, however the forest was blanketed in snow. That was magical! However, with or without snow, I would definitely recommend the 1 hour trail ride. Well worth the time and money!

took my girlfriend up to Flagstaff to surprise her with a sleigh ride that I bought from groupon and I can just say that I was amazed when we arrived there. Seeing it on groupon is one thing but seeing it in person is another!!!!!!n :). very friendly and polite staff. Will defiantly return. They offer a cowboy dinner but we decided not do do that. I am anxious to go back with it is snowing!!!!
