We visited Desert Diamond Distillery and thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the facilities. It was interesting to see the still and other equipment, and learn more about the process of making great rum and other spirits. I particularly liked the one that included agave, which gave it a unique taste. Our tour guide was informative and passionate about his work. It was fun to see the barrel room and the variety of barrel sizes. (You can even make your own spirit here! Contact them for pricing and details; if we lived closer we would probably participate.) Nice gift shop with unique gourmet foods and more too. Highly recommended.

We had enjoyed their rum at our local bars, so we made sure we visited while passing through. It wasn't actually open when we were there, but the owner graciously opened for our tour and tasting. We really enjoyed the visit, his stories, and the tasting. The place is spotless and well organized if you can find it in the industrial area of the airport (part of his many stories). They have a second tasting room in Old Town Cottonwood if you are in that area. Either is worth a visit.

We got a nice tour from the owner, and learned a lot about the craft rum. We did the flight tasting and would recommend this to anyone who is in the area.

Desert Diamond Distillery (or "D3" as some locals refer to it) produces some of the most rum I have ever tasked outside of Jamaica. Their trick is the wood chips used during the aging process that imparts a smoky essence that when mixed with coke makes for a chocolate-like flavor. But the distillery itself is small, and located where you would not expert - in an industrial park, in a very industrial building, adjacent to the Kingman airport. The "tour" such as it is is really just a look at their distilling equipment and process but the owners take pride in rum their product. The front of the building houses the gift shop and tasting room, and of course all of their spirits (currently a dark, light, and agave rum; vodka; and a "special barrel" rum) as well as other items of interest to mixologists. There is no food available, and no place nearby to have a meal and cocktails are not available at the distillery, although a few restaurants in town serve cocktails with their spirits. The bottom line is the distillery is worth a visit if you like or are a collector of very small-batch spirits. And make sure you try the agave rum... very nice!

This was a fun and informational tour. Relaxing atmosphere and little trinkets to look at. We'll be back!

The owner of this distillery was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The short tour was comprehensive and very interesting. Rum tasting followed the tour and was wonderful. The small shop had many wonderful gift items and of course the different rums for sale. The was minimal and worth it. The rum was delicious. The directions for getting to the place, as given to us by the owner, were easy to follow and got us right there. Not an outing, of course, for children.

Heard about Desert Diamond Distillery while in Laughlin. Also saw it in a brouchure on Kingman Arizona attractions. Decided to drive to Oatman to see the burros then on to Kingman to buy hubby another Route 66 shirt at the Powerhouse and a tour of Desert Diamond Distillery. We had the guided tour with the son who happens to be the master chef of the delicious spirits. The owners (mon, dad and son) are very nice folks. The tour was very informative and educational, besides being fun. You can sample all of the spirits made at the distillery. I don't normally drink rum and vodka straight, but each sample that we tasted was smooth and delightful. The $5 charge for the tour is deducted from any purchase made. There is a quantity discount as well, all the better. I ended up buying six bottles of rum and vodka for personal use and for gifts (I promised my son a bottle of rum). The half bottles will make great gifts. I wish I had bought more for Christmas presents. I will be back!!!!

Took a day trip to Kingman, Arizona on October 22, 2014. One of the stops we made was Desert Diamond Distillery. At the door, we were met by Peter Patt, one of the owners. He showed us around the shop before we started the tour. He was entertaining and fun to listen too. Once the tour started, it just got better. He showed us all around the building telling us stories about how the company was started and described each and every piece of equipment. At no time were bored. The entire tour was entertaining and fun. The tour lasted about 30 minutes. After the tour was over, he took us back to the shop to look around. The cost of the tour was only $5.00 ( which was well worth it ), but if you buy something from the store, you got a discount of $5.00. Everything in the store was very nice and inexpensive. We were also given tastes of all four rums and one vodka they make there. I will go back again.

Visited this distillery on 2nd October 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this family oriented tour. It was very personal and informal. We had the "father" of the enterprise take us on the guided tour and would recommend a stop off at this distillery if you are passing through the region. We purchased the Agave Rum and wished we had bought more. The taste is unique and quite special. Well done and keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing the brand in the UK.Please note that the fee for the tour is absorbed into any purchase you make after the tour.

After driving by the sign to the DDD for months, I decided it was time to stop in and "Take the Tour". The place doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside you'll find a Huge Bar with some rich old history. The folks that own/run the distillery are very hospitable and eager to share their story and some local history. The tasting room is full of Route 66 and Kingman trinkets as well as a nice supply of all sizes of the DDD libations. The real fun starts with the tour. It's not a real long tour but once you see the main attraction, the Still if you will.. well, it's a real thing of beauty and the heart of the fine nectar that is produced there. To end the tour you're given a nice sampling of DDD's wares and the nominal price of the tour is refunded from any purchase of their product. My personal favorite is the Agave Rum. Nice take.

My husband and I stopped by the distillery after reading about it on Trip Advisor. It was easy to find near the Kingman airport. They have a nice store in the front and a distillery and cask aging area in the back. We paid $5 each for a private tour. The $10 was later credited towards our purchases. They have a modern distillation system and an area where they age the rum. We got to taste four rums and a vodka. All were great but we loved the agave rum. It was excellent and we purchased some for us and for gifts.

Great little place to visit and the owners gave a very interesting insight into their operation while showing us around. They also seemed very genuine, like they weren't just giving you the smarmy sales patter to entice you into buying their products. We're hoping to get back over to the US around Easter and we'll definitely be going back to the D3.

A rum distillery in the desert is not what I was expecting, but it was a very interesting and informative tour. The husband was very busy overseeing a distillation (which made the pace smell fantastic) and his wife showed us around. The tour costs $5 each, redeemable against any shop purchases, and we happily tried each of the 5 main types of rum they produce, several of which have won awards. If you like rum, it is a very worthwhile visit.
