We tried to go here while in effingham but it is not marked and very hard to find. We gave up and went and saw the cross and went to a winery instead. After talking to locals we were in the right spot but the tiny parking lot at the trail head says no parking. You need to park at the performance center and walk across the street to the trail head. Maybe we'll try again next time.

This is a peaceful, scenic walk (run/bike) on the outskirts of Effingham...and it keeps getting longer! Love the TREC Trail!!

A great place to go and walk when you want to be in nature, if you take the nature part of it, which I do. The only problem that I have found is that the leaves can be a problem in the Fall when they are wet and can cause you to slip. Otherwise, the rest of the year it is usually cleaned off and a nice place to exercise. I use it for walking.

Concrete handicap accessible trail that meanders through very scenic woods, crop fields, and wet lands. Off the Calico trail there is a beautiful tressel bridge, Ryan's crossing, which crosses the Little Wabash river. This is a new trail system which will eventually grow to 40+ miles in length. The autumn season is my favorite.
