My husband is a fan of the show but suprisingly I found it an interesting place. You cannot imagine all the memorabilia they have there. The also had costumes and props from various movies/shows from its beginnings to even TV series. My only complaint was how cold the museum was where the artifacts were, but still better than the temperatures outside.

It is really interesting to see a museum that has all the stuff I had in my room as a child, it is a great collection of stuff well worth going to see.

The Super Museum is perfect for the Superman aficionado as well as the casual observer. There is a huge collection of memorabilia from the various TV shows and movies throughout the years. The gift shop is jjam packed with fun toys, t-shirts, and collectibles. You can also get some great photos outside the museum and in front of the Superman statue. This really is a fun place to spend time. You can even visit the gift shop without entering the museum part of the building, but it's well worth the $5 admission. One word of advice;,the museum section does not appear to be heated so dress warmly in the winter months, or spring for a Superman sweatshirt!

For a small admission fee you can see anything you could possibly imagine related to superman and lots of things you would have never imagined. From the early tv show, to all the movies, the latter tv shows, and even the comics there are thousands of things to see. It is a small museum but it packs a huge punch. Toss and posters and costumes and set pieces and figures. .. the list goes on and on. If you are in town to see the statue, take some extra time and see this great collection. .. also a gift shop attached so you can add to your own collection.

Simple $5 admission per person pretty standard. Small museum but lots and lots of superman related stuff from props, to costumes, toys, etc. Also has an awesome gift shop. We went on a super hot day and the museum has a window unit air conditioning so it was pretty hot inside. Will visit again.

Impressive collection. He started when he was six! Costumes from every version of TV show and movie. Props from that old B&W TV show so many of us love. Even some of Terry Hatchers costumes from Lois and Clark. This is as complete of a collection one could have.

I've been to the Super Museum twice, which is no small feat, given that each time it required a drive from Long Island, NY, where I live. The museum is a treasure trove of Superman and Superman-related memorabilia. Jim Hambrick, its curator, has done a masterful job.The place has an array of precious items from every aspect of Superman's "life", including rooms dedicated to the major incarnations of him, e.g., the beloved "Adventures of Superman" TV series with George Reeves; the movies; other TV shows; and even Supergirl. The museum also has a gift shop and is located in - where else? - Metropolis, Illinois. Metropolis, though not a big city like the one in the Superman mythos, is nonetheless quite interesting. It's along the picturesque Ohio River, has a floating gambling casino and, best of all - it honors Superman with a giant statue and other adornments throughout town.My son & I took the driving trip years ago (twice, as mentioned) and we hope to be back soon! The Super Museum and Metropolis are not only recommended for Superman fans - that's a "given" - but for people who love Americana...

Super Museum is chock full of Superman memorabilia from the comic books, television shows, and the movies. It's crammed with a dizzying amount of artifacts like costumes, props, statues, and photos. If I recall correctly, it's the collection of one person, which is astounding. As such, it's displayed in a willy-nilly manner and conservation isn't practiced. I cringed to see so many printed materials bleached out by the sun, but I'm sure the owner is doing the best he can with what he knows and can afford. Still, it's just amazing how many items are on exhibit. On the way out of the museum is a store filled with geeky goodness. We purchased some vintage comics and a T-shirt.

We stopped in to check out the museum and we were not disappointed. They seem to have every kind of memorabilia that has ever had anything to do with superman. My husband is the ultimate superman fan and he really liked it.

We got here at the tail end of the (apparently) Big superman celebration - which might have been interesting if we had seen the whole thing. The museum itself is basically a large collection.... LOTS of stuff, not much organization, but fascinating to see.

Check out the Phone Booth in down town, take your picture with Superman in town square. Just a cute place.

This is a neat place to see anything and everything Superman. It's 5 bucks to go in and I was impressed at how much they have collected through the years.

My boyfriend and I decided to make an impromptu trip down to Metropolis Illinois to check out the Super Museum, what we found when we got there was a Super let down. The location of the Super Museum is great, right next to the giant Superman Statue in the heart of Metropolis, but the outside of the museum needs some TLC. The museum itself is painted in Superman's colors of red, blue and yellow but it's peeling horribly. They have some Superman cut-outs in front that allow you to pretend to be the Man of Steel which is cutesy. There is also a pretty rough painting of a Superman comic strip on the outside of the building. When you 1st walk in the door of the museum you're greeted with dim lighting in a clustered souvenir shop. They have tons and tons of Superman and other DC superhero paraphernalia all cramped together. We were really disappointed in the selection of Superman shirts. They had a lot yes, but all odd sizes, they had tons of XXXXL & XS but almost no M-L?¿After exploring the gift shop we ventured into the Museum portion of the shop. It was a great price at only $5 per person. The amount of items for such a small museum was impressive! However everything was so mashed together it almost made you feel claustrophobic. They tried to cram too much in such a small space. Some of the things you couldn't even see because they were hiding behind other items. I didn't really think the signs stating "Do Not Touch" were necessary because the cleanliness of the place was horrid. Most of the displays were filthy to the point where you couldn't even see what was in the cases. They did have a lot of extremely rare pieces and pieces that were used in the making of the original show and movies that was neat to see. Hopefully we just came during their off time of year. Metropolis has a Superman Celebration in June that is a whole weekend dedicated to the Man of Steel. Hopefully the museum is cleaned up by then.

My husband is a HUGE Superman fan so when I saw this on my way to Tennessee, I knew I needed to stop for pictures for him. I only spent about 15 minutes checking out the phone booth, statue, & the cool pictures on the buildings, but will bring him back to the museum for sure.

If it was made to promote Superman, it's probably in this museum. Housed in a old downtown store and reasonably priced it has hundreds & hundreds of Superman, Clark Kent, Supergirl memorabilia on display. They also have a great gift shop. Highly recommended if in the area.
