My title says it all. Nice weather? Go. You can get tickets there -- no need to get them ahead. They also have chairs you can rent -- so you really can be spontaneous and just go. And, when I went, they even had Mosquito spray if you wanted to use it -- for those in fear of bugs being outdoors. We had zero problems with that. It's a park, so non-alcoholic drinks,...but....well, no one is going around checking.....

For four decades Austin Gardens has been the site of Oak Park's Festival Theatre - and while we don't get to go every year, we've been to numerous productions and they have always been excellent. This year's production of Hamlet, while hokey in its setting of 1920s Chicago, is very well acted and true to Shakespeare's language. Their next production will be Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. However, beyond the quality of the actors and set design, Austin Gardens is a beautiful, picturesque site for outdoor theater. The mature trees that hold a canopy over the stage and the quiet open green space make this the perfect site see watch a Shakespeare production. Bring your own chairs and a cooler for a great even outdoors.

Bring your own folding chairs and blankets, and have a great night under the stars watching them present Shakespeare in a bit different way. Good entertainment

It was a bit cold that evening, sitting in the park and not having brought the appropriate attire, but the production was very good. The actors did an outstanding job. If this is the quality of all of their productions, we will definitely attend again next summer!
