Our family 4-some sought a public golf course to settle a "GRUDGE MATCH." Coming in from other states we needed a centrally located, easily accessible, good course, from I-80 & I-39, in north-central ILLINOIS. A call to CHAPEL HILL netted us a TeeTime. Travel time interfered & the STARTER accommodated us. The course has recently "changed hands," & still has some "touch up" yet to do, BUT once on the course we found the course to be WELL DESIGNED, CHALLENGING, & the fairways & greens are in good conditioning. The drive thru the timber, & natures beauty augment the golfing experience. With a little time & additional mowing, this will be a JEWELL. The drive into the estate, nets a breathtaking view of the Southern Style Mansion, as the Clubhouse & special events facility. I've played courses all over, and this layout & challenges are fair, & fun for the average duffer. As I mentioned, "it's under new management & reopening, so it's a little "rough around the edges," so look past that & see the beauty, & great layout. The greens are in good condition, with more undulation than most courses, but fair.
