This is a generational community tribute to the men and women who have stood up for our freedom.

An inspiring monument to eight Mexican American soldiers from one short street in Silvis who gave the last full measure of their devotion during WWII and the Korean War. I am frequently in the neighborhood and did not think of stopping to pay my respects until reading a local history book "Hero Street, U.S.A.: The Story of Little Mexico's Fallen Soldiers" by Marc Wilson.
