We took this tour with Chris, who was so personable. He has so much knowledge about the area that we were asking for more! The ride itself was filled with beauty and total enjoyment. This is something I have always wanted to do if ever I found myself in FL, and was not disappointed. This far exceeded my expectations! I rarely repeat an experience because there is always something new to discover, but if ever in this part of FL again, we will definitely repeat this tour!! Thanks Chris

wow this tour is great.Four hours just flies by, there is so much to see and explore. Our kids had a great time.We will be taking it again next year. Our guide was full of imformation and is a Native. I found it very Interesting that his grandfather was the first to do tours in The big Cypress and now his family carries on the tradition.Great people. If your in the glades take the the time to do this tour.

We went on the first day of opening after the swamp had been closed for 60 days for fires. Got off to a little late start and some engine overheating, but Chris was super nice and kept his cool while getting the swamp buggy running smoothly. You could still see where the fires had burned, but most of the swamp was lush and green. The water was a little low, but enough to feel that you were 'in the swamp'. It was a very hot day with pop-up thunderstorms, but the swamp buggy had a cover, so 'no worries'!Do take plenty of sunscreen and bug repellent! We had brought our own, but Chris had repellent, too. The flies are HUGE and so are the mosquitoes. Reapply often throughout the 4 hours and you'll have no problem with sunburn or bug bites.Chris provided cool drinks, and even offered us a PB&J, but you can bring along whatever you may want to snack on. There aren't any bathrooms, ladies!! So, take care or be prepared to improvise. (I think Chris did say he had a porta-potty, which I declined.)VERY BUMPY ride, so if you have back or neck problems, this may not be something you should try. This is a 'mom and pop' business and the owners are hospitable and treat you like long-time friends. Chris has an easy-going way and lots of stories to tell during the ride. Overall, a super pleasant way to spend an afternoon and see a side of Florida most tourists don't ever get to see.

We recently spent a few days in Everglades City and wanted to take a look at Big Cypress Preserve because it is so huge and unlike anything we are used to. The swamp buggy we were taken in fitted 5 adults (including the driver) and 2 children very comfortably. We had a canopy over the four of us that were in the back, which was very welcome as it was very hot. Cool drinks were provided, which we all thought was very thoughtful. Chris, our driver and guide began by telling us what trees we would be able to see and what animals we needed to look out for. Chris had a lovely way with us all he retold lots of anecdotes and gave a lot of the background story to this wonderful area. We were able to get off the swamp buggy to see plants, trees and animals closer and just to get a better feel of the place. Chris has extensive knowledge of this environment and some of the things it has to offer. Even after many years of exploring this vast area Chris is still discovering new things and relishes the oppurtunity to go into the preserve and spread that knowledge to other people, he's a really enthusiastic man and we smiled the whole time we were out in the preserve with him, it was a truly amazing way to spend fours hours. Just a warning, it was very bumpy and whilst our children loved it not everyone's children will.
