We visited this base for our son's reenlistment. The base was very clean and everyone was very personable. My husband was in several years ago and says they have come a long way since then.

i have been stationed here numerous times and have a friend buried in the Barancas National Cemetery. There is so much history here. The Naval Schools of Photography was here but they moved them...

We are so glad we took a rainy day to visit the Naval Air Museum! Free tour of the first floor was so informative and the guides are all former pilots. There are many historical planes here that unless you visit you can only see on the web. The Cubi officers club is also in the museum ( brought here piece by piece and reconstructed). We did not see everything so plan to return next year. You can also watch (for free) the Blue Angels practice- check schedule as they are in CA during FEB and March. Do yourself a favor and take the time to visit....you will not regret it!

Pretty nice base on a beach with all amenities. They have a nice hiking/running/bike trail about 6 miles each way. There is VERY good museum on base, as well as a light house, a fort and other plane exhibits. There is an 18 hole golf course but if I heard correctly, they are closing it in May 2015. They have a nice beach with pretty sand. They also have campgrounds and two hotels right on base.Very outdoor friendly base.

We had read comments on Trip Advisor and decided to go. We never regretted our decision. Huges planes, good explanations given. Recommends to everyone!

Everyone should take the time to explore the N.A.S. Pensacola. There is something for everyone there. From the museum, the forts, the lighthouse, the golf course and even the cemetery s awesome.

If you have any interest at all in aviation, particularly military aviation, US history, light houses, military history, you're a civil war buff, your parents or someone you know or knew served in the Navy, if you served in the military, if you like big machines, that make noise, go fast, break records, if you like old stuff.....then you must visit the Naval Air Station Pensacola "The Cradle of Naval Aviation". Home of the Blue Angels, the US Navy Flight Demonstration Team who can be seen practicing, at no charge, most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings March to November. Their homecoming show in November is also not to be missed. The National Naval Aviation Museum holds a vast collection of aircraft and displays to satisfy even the most discriminating of museum guests. Fort Barrancas and it's associated Advanced Redoubt share history that dates back to the earliest settlements of the area. Plus the whole thing is near the beach! At the very least make a short trip to break up the monotony of sunbathing.

This Museum is a must see for people of all ages. From Fighter planes from World War 1 & World War II to the present, exhibits, Imax presentations, simulators etc. Experience the simulated flight deck, you feel like you are on board the Aircraft carrier. Figure on spending at least one day to enjoy as much as possible, have lunch at the on site café.

Don't miss this great museum of Naval Aviation. Equals the quality of exhibits at The Smithsonian. Give yourself 2 to3 hours to see the exhibits and movies.

The museum contains the history not only of our Navy, but of the Blue Angels. Exhibits are educational and fascinating and the staff are friendly and informative. Not to be missed!

My wife, friends and I went here to visit the Naval Air Museum. The experience was awesome to see all the different Navy and Marine aircraft. There was so much to see and do that one day really isn't enough time to read the information and hear explanations. Of particular interest was the new Coast Guard Museum and the Vietnam exhibit. In addition, my wife and I did the Blue Angels flight simulator ($5/each). There was also a simulator for jet aircraft ($20 for 1 or 2 people). The staff was great. BTW-there is no charge to visit the museum. A free will donation is requested.I highly recommend this attraction.

Pensacola NAS is a beautiful base with much history. The Naval Air Museum is top notch, the lighthouse is historic, the old Naval Hospital area with the mosquito wall is very interesting,an old fort (forgot the name) near the museum. I love the historic officers quarters homes overlooking the chapel.Thegolf course is top notch. OakGrove camping area is very popular.Of course NAS is home of the Blue Angels. When they are home you can see them practice for free. They go to California in the winter. Places to eat: Cubie Bar at the Museum, Golf course, near the school house there is a food court.
