This is a gem in a very un-expected location. An incredible collection of artifacts from all aspects of History's battles. This is definitely a "Must See" for all Military buffs and a great educational tool for all students yound and old!

We were not sure what to expect when we first arrived, as the location seemed to be in an odd location, but we gave it a try. Very glad we did. The museum does an excellent job of celebrating the various branches of the armed forces and their history primarily in the latter half of the 20th century. All of the exhibits were painstakingly and professionally displayed. Nothing trite or tacky. The museum was informative, engrossing, and uplifting. We were fortunate to be there on a day when a number of WWII, Korean, and Vietnam vets were visiting, and we learned things from many of them. All in all, very uplifting. We recommend it to anyone who is patriotic minded.

If you are a lover of this type of history and memorabilia then this gives you more than what first meets the eye. There are about 17 different sections of history including Korea, Vietnam, WWI and WWII. The displays are great. Several real accounts by war vets, film footage and theater. It will take a couple of hours to really visit so budget your time. I would give this a higher ranking except for the cost. Some may find the $17+ too much, seniors $15 and even the vets are $15. If you are a history person then it may not be so much for what you get.

If you enjoy military history, this is a good stop. A great exhibit on uniforms and excellent exhibits on WW1, WW2, Viet Nam and the cold war. Some interesting hardware and artifacts. Worth a stop.

Cool displays and lots of authentic equipment from tanks to RPGs. Lots of guns, a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Spent about two hours wandering around and reading the displays. Not scary violent so it is child friendly for those interested in war history.

This museum had so much more than I expected. It has an extensive collection of weapons, equipment and personal items.I thought a hour or 2 was enough but once you start looking around, you get so interested in everything times flies.Well worth going into and checking out this wonderful museum.

An excellent destination for all things military. The museum has an extensive collection of military weapons, equipment, and personal items, expertly displayed and carefully documented. All services are represented but the army dominates. I particularly enjoyed the WW2 pictures displayed throughout the museum. The museum location is a little out of the way and the turn off Ulmerton Road is easy to miss due to road construction. Also, the museum is large so allow at least two hours for your visit.

I have passed this museum for years and never bothered to stop. Recently we took our 12 year old grandson, and couldn't believe the awesome display of military history. As a retired auto worker, and UAW member, I was proud to see the huge display of tanks, and war supplies that were built in GM, Ford, and Chrysler plants by union auto workers. These were built by American Companies, and American workers. The displays, and recognition of America's brave men and women who served, and the personal stories of those who paid the ultimate price is something you will never forget. This is a must see, if you are in the Tampa Bay Area. The price was $12-$14, but well worth seeing.

I only happened upon this place as I attended a charity event there and it came with a free tour of the museum. I think its like $5-$10 to get in normally but it is pretty cool. Glad I saw it.

My husband is a former Marine so we enjoy visiting and supporting military museums. The Armed Forces History Museum is definitely worth our support. Thank you to the staff for a fine job. You can tell the entire staff takes pride in our military. Start your tour with Salute to Service / Firearms and Ordnance Exhibit. See all the armed service uniforms from then to now. Next step into World War I Trench Exhibit. Third part of the tour takes you through World War II Pearl Harbor, USMC South Pacific, US Navy and the D-Day Landing/French Village Exhibits. Korean and Vietnam Wars are next exhibits. Finally you move into the Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Each one of the above exhibits is so moving. The attention to exhibit details and to replica scale the museum gives visitors a feeling of serving right beside our soldiers. I can not explain in words just how realistic the exhibits are. Please take the time out of your travels to visit the Armed Forces History Museum.

I was so excited to go to this museum as my wife is active duty in the Army. We were taking a vacation to the Tampa area so we made sure to go. Active duty gets in free which is one of the reasons we went because then we would only need to pay for one ticket. ($18) **Side note- I have seen quite a 2for1 groupon deal for this place that would allow two people to get in for only the 18$**The museum its self was nice. Very clean and the staff was friendly. The items were nice and it was interesting to see a lot of war items. One thing that my wife said when we were leaving was "There wasnt really anything army" Which I can agree with her. It was a lot of Navy and Marines. Even in the gift shop, the Army sticker was the Army star. ehh, you can get that anywhere. I wish there had been a "I went to this museum" gift or something like that. i overall the gift shop was very generic. I loved the uniforms and the WW1 set up. Very interesting seeing all the different pictures and names. Overall, I would recommend but with the notion that you will only be there for about 1-1.5hrs and see if you can find the groupon.

I feel future visitors need to know that the outside of the building doesn't reflect in any way the treasures that are inside it. When we drove up recently, we almost didn't stop because the exterior looked like someone's old garage and we really wondered if it would be worth it. Boy, were we glad that we didn't miss this. This museum has extensive information on each of America's wars, beginning with WWI and including, re-creations of subs and tanks, and realistic areas showing a French village during the war and a small section of the Ho Chi Minh trail which you walk through and which gives you a chilling feeling of what it was like to fight in the jungle. I especially liked the uniforms on life-size mannequins and the various military awards, but I can't honestly say that any of the exhibits disappointed. A must see for adults and children alike. Be sure to allow enough time to immerse yourself in the information.

Definitely the best military museum I've ever visited, and I've been to many. Great exhibits, well laid out, huge collection of memorabilia, very informative, clean.

We were lucky to be able to go to the museum on Veterans Day for free. This museum in a little town was very impressive. It covered all wars and conflicts. Had great displays. I enjoyed the front where they had a great display of probably 40 uniforms - from regular army guy to dress up clothes for higher ups including uniforms that women wore - something you don't always see. Each war/conflict was in its own section which was nice so that everything wasn't all mixed up together. Some big displays - walked through a WWI bunker, very interesting. Walked a bit down Ho Chi Minh trail.A great place to go to remember the sacrifices made by our military - and families (ration books, victory gardens, women working). I am glad we spent part of our Veterans Day here to remember and be grateful to our military men and women.
