We regret to hear that you didn't enjoy your trip to Lion Country Safari (in South Florida). Our exhibits are some of the largest in any AZA accredited institution. Our exhibit space in the preserve ranges 7 acres to over 40 acres. Additionally, the only section that has electric fence is the section with our rhinos- the fence is used to protect the vegetation and trees. This section is the most expansive at just over 40 acres.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review about Lion Country Safari. One of our goals at Lion Country Safari is to have our animals as close to their natural environment as possible. We actually encourage our guests to drive-through in the morning hours or later afternoon. The animals tend to be more active when it is cooler outside. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience and we hope to see you back soon!

Thank you for taking the time to tell guests about your experience. We are so glad to you to hear you had a great time, especially on our safari. Sometimes the best time to go through the safari is when it is raining. The animals tend to be more active in the rain because it is cooler outside. We have expanded the park over the last few years adding an entire herd of Kulan, many new animal births, a safari sprayground, giraffe feeding exhibit, a gem/fossil panning exhibit, a ferris wheel, camel rides, budgie feeding aviary, special event pavilion, and water balloon challenge. We do hope to continue expansion in 2013. We hope to see you back soon! Have a wild day!

I can't believe the reviews that I have read on Tripadvisor on this place. It seems that city people will fall for anything. I have been on 6 African safaris to 7 different central/southern African countries, and I can tell you one thing- these guys care only about quantity, not quality. While the blackbuck (South American) and Berchell's Zebra populations looked healthy and active, several of the other species were in very poor condition. There were probably around 400-500 animals in this enclosure and AT LEAST a dozen on them need to be taken out immediately to end their suffering (please note that I am a hunter, NOT an environmentalist). These animals look very poor- extruding ribs and hips, as well as some raw injuries. And we saw at least 7-8 males with broken horns, a sign that they are fighting way too much. The animals in question may not be starving- they may be diseased. In either case, the humane thing to do is to put them down, not keep them around just to keep your numbers up. We know locals here who say that this place has been going down the tubes for years. They have gotten to the point where this "tour" was truly a disgusting animal experience. Please check my profile- I usually write very positive reviews, but this place needs to needs to be managed with the animal's interest in mind, therefore being a better tourist attraction.

I had taken family from out of town and what an experience. It's like being in am African Safari without leaving the US. The audio disk they provide you takes you through each area withgreat explanation of what you are seeing. In fact it even makes you aware of some things that you would completely miss had you not been informed it was there. The refreshments were perfect after the drive through the wild animal area and the exhibits were great fun. You learned a lot about the wildlife and got to feed birds and other wild life as well.Plan on making a day of it as it has a water park component for the kids to enjoy.

Been there before, and saw more animals as I just went on a rainy day. Can't blame the animals for staying under shelters to stay dry, but paying the same hefty fees on a rainy day doesn't make sense to me. Also, for the $30-$40 dollar per ticket price, they don't even let you keep the CD that narrates the tour. Look online for coupons, and wait for a sunny day to go.

I surprised my wife with this after reading some of the other reviews and we were blown away by everything!!!!The drive through safari was AWESOME and we even had an "encounter" with a mamma Rhino who didn't like her baby getting too close to our car. Some of the negative reviews actually made me laugh!Come on people you are not in Africa...it is Florida and considering our Legal system I think these folks have done an amazing job.I recommend anyone who loves animals to visit here.

This was a great outing for families. The drive through portion was very cool. The animals were up close and it felt like you are truly on a safari. There is a little zoo and water activities you can go to afterwards- which my 6 year old loved. The only downside is it is pretty costly for our family of 3 it was over 100$ for the safari portion which only takes about 45 mins to go through however you can then go to the zoo/ water activities afterwards. I would recommend going if you never have! It is for sure something that you should see at least once :)
