My husband and I went for the first time yesterday and did the trail walks. We throughly enjoyed it and will be buying a season pass, because we're definitely going to frequent there quite often. Great outing for the family, beautiful scenery too.

This little park has picnic facilities in both shade and sun. There is a fishing pier, boat launch, and modern restrooms. It's a nice place to have a picnic lunch or go fishing from the pier.

1st visit since new ownership. Great food, huge servings, unbelievable menu including items no place else ever heard of! Lots of area (inside and outside) to eat or just relax, watch the calming water and beach where just yourself or families are content. Something for everyone, from the youngest to oldest. Handicapped ramps, with rails, all the way to the water/beach. Even used for the little ones in strollers. A MUST SEE location!!

Carney Island was acquired using funds from the “Pennies for Parks” program. The site includes over 750+ acres. A canal connects Little Lake Weir to Big Lake Weir. It has a boat ramp for the avid boaters/fishermen/jet ski. It has two large playgrounds for the kids. It is a great place for a family reunion/company parties/large group gatherings offering pavilions and numerous picnic tables/ bbq grills throughout the park. Big Lake Weir has a handicap platform so those with disabilities can enjoy being on the beach also. It has two swim areas with changing rooms. For those who love to walk and are camera enthusiasts, it has a trail in which you will see all sorts of wildlife to include turkeys, deer, rabbits, coyotes, and best of all, the American Bald Eagle. Lemon Point trail leads out to a wonderful point where the water is so clear you will want to go swimming. From the tall sable palms to the majestic oak trees, beauty is all around you. There is a $5.00 entry fee. Park hours are 7 am to 8 pm. No domestic animals allowed unless they are on a boat or are service animals.

sometimes when you look at a map, you cant tell if a park is worth visiting or not. but this one had some caches hidden on the trail and was close by. so figured I would spend the 5 dollars to get in and see. its much bigger than it looks on the map. has a nice restoration area where they are regrowing trees natural to Florida, and a nice walking trail that goes under moss coverd oaks and is inhabited by lots of wild turkeys and other animals. there are two sepreate small swimming beaches and also two boat ramps one for motorized boats and another for putting off paddle type boats. ample room for picnics and pavilvions you can reserve for groups. well cared for park, enjoyed my visit so much I decided to get the year pass. there was a concession stand but it was not open either time I came, think it is only open weekends. there are restrooms
