Looked pretty, but when you went on, they want to charge you $5.00 per person just to walk on it. I understand about paying to fish, but found that to be ridiculous.

This pier is in need of repairs and the restrooms are in very bad shape. But if you want to fish, this is a great place. I have fished most of the piers and parks in the Tampa area and this is one of my favorites. It is rarely crowded, so you have plenty of room to move around. Almost every species in the area can me caught here. The people are friendly and willing to help. The cost is a little steep, but if you compare the add cost of parking in other places it's not so bad. The bait and tackle is very expensive, so plan ahead come with everything you need. There is a deli that will deliver to the pier if you wish to eat and not leave the pier.

This place is really run down. Benches have been repaired by just laying another layer of boards on top. All the wood and railings are very old, there are 2x4's lying around. Every time I leaned on the railing I pictured it collapsing and dumping me into the ocean. The people that run it look like they are from the back woods of Kentuchy. One day they'll have a reality show about this place but no-one would believe it. If you want to try pier fishing go to Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach. It is far nicer and less than half the price. They also have buskers etc. around dusk.

Nice pier operated by a quaint local at the gate. Not sure why there is a charge to just take a walk but what the heck! It was the first night of our stay and we're glad we paid the price. Loved watching the egrets, herons and pelicans "stalking" the fisherman. And it was a beautiful night. Make sure you walk the beach underneath the pier during the day. It's free! :)

This pier is historical and interesting. My grandchildren loved walking the pier and playing in the sand and surf surrounding the pier. We even used the pier as a great photo opportunity. The views from here are amazing

My family and I were driving down the coast checking out some of the local sights. I saw this fishing pier didn't have the best reviews, but since we were already driving by I thought I'd pull in to have a look. My first red flag should have been the near empty parking lot.I had my family wait in the car as I walked up to have a look and ask a question. While I've never heard of a pier charging an outrageous $5 per person just to walk out on, I wanted to see for myself. That was only the beginning! The $5 charge is to stay less than 1 hour! If you want to stay longer, it's $10! Anyone who pays that is out of their mind. I also wanted to inquire if it was the same rate for small kids as we had our 4 with us. Would they charge my 1 year old the same $5 (or $10) for us to carry him out? Would they really charge us upwards of $60 to walk out there? Any other pier I've been to charges 50 cents, $1 or is free all together. By the way, almost all of their signage is all about prices. It's plastered everywhere. As I walked up I saw the poor, run down facilities first hand. Many of these boards need to be replaced. I understand fishing piers for what they are. I've been on several many different times throughout my entire life, but this place really appeared to be old and dirty.I walked up to the counter where the man behind the counter was busy with 3 people in front of me who were paying to fish (over $60). He was somewhat rude with his interaction to them, but I tried to remain optimistic. The employee was really taking a long time, obviously in no hurry at all. He saw me standing there. We even locked eyes a couple of times. All I had was a question or two. While standing there, another man was coming from off the pier in the other direction and stopped by the counter too. We waited and waited. Finally, when he was done with the group of 3, he ignored me and went and interacted with the guy who came up after me! I never got a "will be right with you" of any sorts. Just ignored all together. Finally, out of disgust, I simply walked away.Look at my full profile of all the places I've reviewed. Out of 160 reviews up until this point, this is only the second time I've given a one star review. This could be a very nice place! Unfortunately, the high prices, rude staff and rundown facilities will never see our family.I've included several pictures so you can view the signage for yourself. If you found this review helpful, please let me know by clicking the button below! I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

We parked the car and walked along the pier to the building where you pay for the car park and entrance fee, which varies depending on what you intend to do on the pier.We could see that building and repair work that was much needed was in progress on the other side of the pay booth, having read the entry prices we returned to the car passing a couple walking onto the pier. As we drove off they were coming back as well.It is overpriced, basic to say the least and not really a tourist destination. If you are a single minded hard core dedicated angler it may be for you, if not keep driving.

A great pier for Sea fishing, bait and tackle store on the pier with everything you need for a full day's fishing. Located away from all the larger hotels, but close enough to the restaurants and shops of Treasure Island

love the pier here fishing is good.the best thing ever is watching the sunset from the pier........peaceful go everynite just to watch dolphins play...a small fee to get on but well worth it

Way too expensive when you can fish any other pier in pinellas for less than half the price. Try fort desoto piers, Clearwater pier, skyway piers, much better options.

Going fishing anywhere but here... it's a rip off... 25.00 to fish at the end of the pier and stand in 2 inches of Pelican dung. The bait is 3x the regular rate. The have a sign up that reads. "Pier Rules: 1. Nothing is free 2. See Rule Number 1No joke...

The pier is very expensive to go out on I would not waste my time. As far as pier fishing... You do just as well fishing from the beach.

Its lovely to watch people fishing but it is too expensive for what it is. We have been coming to Anglers cove over the years and watched the pier go downhill. It was only 50 cents to go on the pier and then lots more people used it. Now it is 5 dollars just to tread the boards, but at that price it is way overpriced. So disappointing.Much less people use it now which is a shame

This is the only fishing pier in the area and the owners take full advantage of that fact. It is incredibly expensive and everyone who walks on the pier has to pay whether they fish or not. In our case we had our two son's who wanted to fish and we were not fishing but still had to pay to go on pier with them. In addition, they over charge for rod and reel rental. If you go and don't have your own equipment-go to walmart and buy your tackle. It wil be less expensive than renting theirs. They also charge a deposit on the rental equipment and hold your credit card in the cash register until you return the rod and reels.if it hadn't been for disappointing our boys, I would have walked off the pier. The man who was working the night we were there was rude. It was a bad experience all the way around. Fishing for both our sons and the rental came to $80.00 They caught a couple of small fish but the experience was not what we had hoped for. Can't recommend this place.
