Captain Matt Santiago is the best, period! He picked us up at little harbor resort and marina in his beautiful custom built andros fishing boat. He was on time and had a livewell full of fresh live bait. My two young boys and I fished with three local captains that week and we caught more snook, redfish, and trout with Captain Matt than the other two combined! Not only does he have extensive knowledge of Tampa Bay, but he is a super nice and patient guy. You will not only catch fish with him, but learn a lot and have a great time. I have been on fishing charters with Captain Matt Santiago several times over the last 4 years, entertaining both friends and clients. Capt. Matt is friendly, professional and always finds the fish. He is the best tarpon guide I have ever fished with. I caught my personal best, a 150+ lb tarpon fishing with Capt. Matt. Other than tarpon we have caught big snook, redfish, flounder, and seatrout on inshore charters as well as cobia and shark. Offshore charters are incredible too... Aboard the beautiful Sportfisher "Rosa Della" we have filled the coolers with big snapper, grouper, tuna, amberjack and kept the rods bent all day! In addition to consistently catching great fish, Capt Matt is very knowledgeable and will teach you new techniques, whether you are an experienced angler or a novice you will learn something new. There is no better way to spend a day - Great fishing in beautiful Tampa Bay - very nice boat and top of the line tackle - the whole experience is fantastic and will keep you coming back for more. I recommend him highly - I wouldn't fish Tampa Bay with anyone else! Thanks!

Our party of three took a six hour charter with Captain Matt Santiago out of Ruskin, FL for some Flats Fishing and had a terrific time. Even though mid-September is not prime fishing season, Captain Matt found the fish and each of us managed to catch several fish during the course of the trip including redfish, mangrove snapper, red snapper,and trout. Captain Matt is a knowledgeable and personable guide. He is patient and ready to assist the novice, from baiting the hook to making the perfect shoreline cast for them if so desired. He was also more than happy to instruct us in proper technique so we could do it ourselves. The boat was clean, the tackle was well maintained and Captain Matt provided informative answers to our questions. He loves to fish himself noting that even when he doesn't have any charters, he goes out fishing 2-3 days a week. My only caveat is that there is no head on the boat we used, so be advised. It was not a problem for us, but might be for some.We will definitely be fishing with Captain Matt Santiago again!!
