richardson historic park and nature preserve

Richardson Park is the sight of the first manor home to be built in Wilton Manors and where it all began. Today five acres have been set aside for hiking, nature and water activities.The centerpiece is a beautiful old home that the city rents out for weddings, parties and other events. From this area you can follow the wooden paths and see some local Florida flora and view wildlife. If you're lucky you may even spot a manatee. There are kayak and board rentals within in the park and they even offer guided nature tours via kayaks. There is free parking and it's well worth the stop for a short nature walk or a kayak trip. My one complaint is that I did find the trails to have a lot of garbage on them. It would be nice if guests would use the trash cans provided!
