It was just the two of us, and we were able to take out time and "smell the roses" if you will. We did not actually see roses per se but plenty of other natural things. We enjoyed that, as well as the architecture of the area. It;s just a charming little drive, which I would alos have enjoyed walking. Would love to go back - several times actually - because I am sure something poignant or memorable was missed. Despite our only having a week in Ormond Beach, I would do this self-directed "tour" again.

While staying in Ormond Beach we were advised to go for this drive if we had the chance since it really didn't take much time. We had a few hours to kill and decided to give it a whirl. This is a pleasant drive and takes about an hour. We started at the turnoff from Granada blvd. A good part is along the Halifax river. This is a leisurely drive and takes you through streets with beautiful homes on either side and under overlapping trees. At one point you drive by littles ponds and through a great deal of vegetation. It almost has a jungle feel. You also go through a state park. Give this a try you won't be disappointed.

We wanted to explore so we took the Loop. At one point I thought we must have gotten off the scenic section as it just looked plain residential - however it lead us to Flagler Boardwalk and that was definitely worth the trip. I would probably have preferred driving directly down A1A beside the Ocean to get there but it was interesting to see houses other than all the condos along the beach.

BikeWeek! Nice peaceful drive. Lots to see and places to stop for sites and picture taking. Visit it every year.

Whether in a car, or on a bike, this ride is a must do!There is a tunnel of trees, wildlife, water, history, and you can even find some solitude from the beach!Very cool a Real!

Lots if reviews mention the tree canopy over the road which is indeed beautiful. However, we were unable to do a complete loop in our RV because of a height restriction which was posted just as we were about to enter the northern crossover of the loop. So we never got to see the bridge. Did enjoy the ocean and beach views on A1A.

What do you do when the baby is too fussy to take anywhere? You drive. THIS drive was fantastic. Just so pretty, you can stop and walk along the water, it's like Old Florida. We spend over an hour here, which he had the cycles with us to ride...maybe next trip. Beautiful.

If you want a taste of "the Real Florida" do the Loop. Especially don't miss Walter Boardman Rd over to High Bridge to the ocean. Yes the road is very narrow in spots and there are no guard rails between you and the water, but just drive slow and enjoy!

Driving the Loop, hair blowing in the wind and listening to Summer of 69'!! Talk about taking you to a far away place in your mind. You would never imagine how close you are to civilization! Highly recommend!!

We live in Palm Coast and get to enjoy the beauty of this place pretty often, but it never gets old. It is one of the most beautiful rides and if you have visited here for Bike Week and missed it, make sure you take a ride next time you come. You will not be disappointed!

We started The Loop heading north on Ocean Shore Blvd. Lots of little parks and pull-offs where you can get out and enjoy the ocean views. Right as you get to High Bridge Road, there is a big parking area with a deck and beach access. From here, if you're lucky, you can spot Whales coming back to their calving grounds. Driving up High Bridge Road, you can stop at the little park at the base of the bridge and look for dolphins swimming through and have a picnic lunch. Heading back to The Loop, you can be driving down John Anderson Drive along the Halifax River. The view will be very different as you will be immersed in lush vegetation and then lots of old and newer homes as you get back towards Ormond Beach. You can also cross the High Bridge and drive over to Walter Boardman Lane and venture back on the Old Dixie Highway. This takes you back through all of the Old Florida vegetation that really makes you feel how things used to be. Along this route you will encounter a few State run parks to visit as well. Get out and enjoy the road !

We read about the Loop online and took the drive. It is another Florida when you drive it!! It is lush, green, beautiful, and serene. Part of it is on the Halifax River, some is on the ocean and much of it is back roads with beautiful homes and scenery. We rented a Harley the next day and did it again. 34 miles of beauty! Can't wait for next year!

I read about the Scenic Loop when I was researching the Ormond Beach area. It said if you were in the area, you wouldn't want to miss it. I couldn't find a map anywhere on line so we ventured out in the hopes of finding everything. We never saw a few of the interest points. In some places, the road was really pretty and secluded with moss covering the trees. It felt as though you were venturing deep into a jungle. No one mentioned the fact that along the loop you are required to pay to get into the state park. It was only $4 but we usually don't carry cash with us; lucked out that day. This loop led us to a Sugar Mill ruin. It was very interesting and well worth the $4.

Lovely, peaceful drive through old FL scenery. Go a little bit of the Loop to see the Fairchild Oak and the Bulow Sugar Mill. Start along the Tomoka State Park and wind around the creeks eventually ending up at High Bridge and then either John Anderson or the A1A to either Flagler Beach or back towards Ormond Beach.

Drove around the Loop as it was rated the #2 attraction in Ormond Beach. If you enjoy driving the length of this drive and see trees on either side of the road then you might like this. Honestly we were bored and shocked that it got a lot of great reviews. Didn't see much of anything, no wildlife, nothing, just trees and a little water.
