We discovered this historic gem on a recent trip to the Champlain Valley. As history enthusiasts, we felt fortunate to be there on the right day. The museum is only open on weekends and holidays during the summer. It is well worth a visit. For an hour or so, visitors are taken back to life during Colonial times. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. She tailored the presentation to our interests and the time we had available. The exhibit rooms demonstrate how five generations of this prominent family lived. Their interesting story was woven into information about the history of the area as it evolved over the years. The admission fee was quite reasonable and there is a discount for senior citizens.
