It is a place to celebrate the life of your dog when there gone. When you go bring a picture of your dog and pin it up in the chapel with a note about your dog.

What a wonderful place. It is definitely worth the stop if you are a dog lover. The tribute walls will bring you to tears.

It's a small white chapel. with a dozen of seats and some art work of Stephen Huneck. The walls of the Chapel's are covered with photos of dead pets, along with messages from mourning owners. Just next to it, you can visit the art gallery and gift shop just located next to the Dog Chapel, there is also a walking path were your dog can run free. It's located a couple of miles east of St. Johnsbury, on Rt. 2, on Spaulding Rd.

The Dog Chapel is just one part of Dog Mountain. (See the full review of Dog Mtn. for more info) Everything is doggy-themed! All dogs are welcome inside, no leashes required. Beautiful stain-glass windows. Feel free to leave a note or photo in memory of your past pup; the walls are covered in loving messages. Also check out the art displays, gift shop, field, pond, and trails while you're there! It's a one-of-a-kind attraction for dogs and dog lovers!

Glad I made the stop last summer. We had no dogs with us but enjoyed this place. Took a nice walk on the property. Took lots of pictures of the outdoor art. Checked out the dog chapel. Even has a gift shop of the artists work. If you are lucky you will meet Sally. Do not forget to use the bathroom as it is very well decorated with art. Loved this place! Great for the animal lover.

This place was amazing.Dog park, dog chapel, gallery of art work and gift shop. The history in and of itself is interesting, but people's response is fantastic. It's amazing to see how people value their dogs (and other pets!).\Lots of pictures, beautiful grounds, terrific staff in the gallery, and really nice dogs in the park and on the grounds. Parking is a little difficult (steep, with some pot holes - difficult in a little car), but is available, handicap parking is more accessible.Highly recommend, even if it's a little out of the way <3

We always look for our old dog Howie's picture there, beneath all the levels of pets who "went over the rainbow bridge".

This was a nice stop on our way from VT to NH. Depending on if you have your dog with you, will determine the amount of time you can/want to spend there. The chapel is beautiful with all the notes to passed dogs. It has a beautiful view of the country. We spent less than 30 minutes there, but enjoyed our time.

Our 7 year old granddaughter, a dog lover, was the reason for our stop here on a trip from Massachusetts to Montreal. She loved it! There was only one other person there with a dog. We wrote a tribute to all of our dogs long gone and she posted it on the wall. A fun stop if you are driving in the area.

The artist and his wife created a loving tribute to our four-legged friends in the form of a chapel in which the walls are covered with pictures and messages from people who have lost a beloved dog. It's very moving to read people's tributes to the dogs they loved so much. You can take your dog inside the chapel and in the gallery. There's even a walking trail (dog-friendly of course) and a small pond for your dog to swim in! Definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.

While road tripping through Vermont we came across this amazing place. Dog Mountain and especially the Dog Chapel are wonderful places to visit. The actual mountain place for dogs to run free is already a joy to visit and observe dogs at play. But the Dog Chapel is truly a special place to see and leave a prayer for your dog(s), still living or passed on. Countless photos, letters, notes, drawings left by doting dog parents. I personally left a note in memory of my own 3 dogs who have passed away. I hope to go back to St. Johnsbury one day to add photos. Reading through many of the notes and letters will leave tears in your eyes. But it also was wonderful to see how many great dog owners are out there who really appreciate these special creatures.Great experience all around !

Dog lovers should visit! What a happy creative place. I happen to be a lab lover so this was right up my alley. Cant even begin to recall the many things we saw there... The Chapel itself is full of prayers for dogs. Enjoy this place there arent any others like it that I ever saw and I try to get around a lot!

This is easily one of the best places for dog lovers. It's very touching and you can see why it's so amazing when you first pull up.
