Stopped here while in Waterbury visiting the other Best of Vermont spots. Based on reviews that I read, I had to try the apple cider doughnuts . They were great. There were lots of samples of apple condiments to try. There is also cider to try, heads towards the back it is not in a marked location.

It has a fine assortment of jams, jellies, cider donuts and maple treats. It sells hot and cold cider by the glass and you can take home pies or cider. It was OK but didn't strike me as being too unique.

This was a fun visit on a freezing cold day in VT. We took our kids for some cider (delicious) and cider donuts (just ok). The shopping was fun. Lot's of Vermont maple syrup and local honey and jams to buy. Fun VT themed items to look at around every corner. If you are looking for gifts this is the place to go. They also have a big vat of cider for free tastings. Overall, a fun way to kill an hour or two on a cold day leaving Stowe. I would go again in Summer/Fall.

Being a succer for apple cider a visit to this place was of course a must during our roadtrip in New England and Canada. We made a short stop here before we hade our tour planned at the nearby Ben & Jerrys. To me this was almost like paradise and I really enjoyed all of the American things to buy here. And the most important thing - all flavours of apple that I just love! We bought a few stuffs to bring back to Sweden and the other day (about half a year afterwards) I just enjoyed homemade appleflavoured pancakes!

I returned to the Cider Mill after a 20 year absence--I'd not been there since we moved out of Vermont in the 90's. I remember taking my little boys through the front door to see the "apple smoosher" and have some samples of delicious cider and donuts. Those were simpler times, I guess. Upon my arrival I was surprised to be directed to a huge parking lot (big enough for tour buses) and walk through a door that spits you directly into a store/cashier full of Vermont knickknacks. You used to be able to get some samples of the cider donuts and baked goods but no more. Even though we visited on a weekend and the store was full, I was given a cold bag of cider donuts even though there were fresh ones being made. Lots of samples of jellies and mustards were available to taste along with tea towels, magnets and candles. To get to the "Apple smoosher" one had to walk through the entire store and there was a little video running next to it. No apples were being smooshed. There were no signs for the cider press, I just knew where to find it like a Salmon swimming back upstream. I felt the spirit of the Cider Mill had changed and now is much more commercialized. It's still worth a visit, however. The marketing and product placement worked. I left with four types of mustard (do NOT miss the cider curry mustard), 3 jellies, a bag of donuts and, of course, cider that is out of this world!

Saw the shop and stopped to look around. An incredible array of items, and the Cider Donuts were very very good.

Thanks to trip advisor. we found this on the way to the Von Trapp family Lodge. We watched them cook the doughnuts and ate them hot...yum. we could see where they processed the cider and the posters were very informative. Never knew the difference between apple cider in the stores and from a cider mill. The tours were not open on Sunday,. The gift shop was unique and there was a lot of homemade items and foods.I brought home cider tea for gifts and pancake kits with fresh syrup. Great stop!

Enjoy a yummy cup of cider while strolling the adorable shop. It's the ideal place to get gifts to bring back. I selected the most adorable little jars of homemade jams and goats milk soaps. They were a huge hit with friends and family. After shopping, we enjoyed a cider donut. This was the perfect stop for a snack before continuing on the way to Stowe.

My wife and I love this place. When we lived in VT, we always brought our family and friends here. Now that we live in Maine, we really miss Cold Hollow. We just ordered some legendary cider donuts and cider. When I called the ladies were very accommodating with a time sensative order; it's for my wife's birthday. The order shipped exactly when they said it would and it got here the next day. The donuts taste almost as good as they do fresh from the mill.

Outstanding apple cider and donuts. We went here two times on our stay for hot apple cider and donuts. Cold Hollow Cider Mill has a great variety of Vermont gifts, baking mixes, apple sauces, tee shirts. The large jar of applesauce we bought did not last long!!! A must stop, if you are in the Stowe area!

Very interesting items in the store, nice handmade gifts. Fresh apple cider donuts are a must, as well as the fudge and other items. Take some time to wander around. Large parking lot, tables outside I believe.

The store was very nice. The apples out front were well picked over. The jelly and cider was delicious. I was expecting more than what I saw. When I checked out, the teenage cashier behind the counter did not greet me or say much of anything during the check out process. They could work on their customer service skills.

It's fun to watch apple pulp being pressed to produce cider and to taste the free sample cider in the press room. The doughnut-making machine produces small doughnuts while you watch; they're warm and tasty. The cider mill also has lots and lots of apple, cheese, and maple syrup related products. If you want to buy a Vermont souvenir, this is your place. Ample parking. Of the several places we stopped in Waterbury Center, this was the best and most interesting.

My daughter and I stopped in before heading home after a two day visit to the area. I don't like crowds, organized tours or shopping, but I still enjoyed our stop here and it is really a must for the cider doughnuts alone-and this is from a person who doesn't "do" doughnuts. The store is crowded with tour bus people but there truly is something's for everyone, be it gifts, food, cider etc. I bought some doughnuts with the idea to give them to my husband whe we arrived home, but they got devoured at a rest stop on the way. They were the lightest, tastiest doughnuts ever. We also picked up some Vermont made jams and syrup, of course, gifts that did make it back. If you are in the area it's worth stopping in. PS: the restrooms are like mini closets that you have to take a step up to access. There may be better accessible ones elsewhere in the building, but the main ladies room where we were wasn't easy if you have mobility issues.
